I have a slingbox pro, and a Linksys WRT54G router, when connecting the slingbox to the router, I get a power light and a slow blinking red network light, thats it.  Slingbox setup cannot see the Slingbox.  I have done some research on the forums, and have not found anything that works.  Upnp is enabled.  I have switched out the network cable that connects the stupid Slingbox to the router, I have even rebooted the router.  I have reset the stupid Slinbox about 15 times, its getting ready to be a frisbee off the back deck.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try turning off UpNp and see if you can get the set up to work. I personally have never used upnp, I always set my equipment up personally with a static IP I assign.

Slingbox Pro Slinging Comcast Analog and HD via Comcast Internet using AirLink Powerline adapters; Slingbox Classic Slinging Sunddenlink Analog Cable and DirecTV HR21 via Sunddenlink Internet, using netgear powerline adapters.

I tried that, did not help, any other ideas?

I should mention that this Slingbox has worked in the past. I got a TivoHD, so I switched the inputs into the Slingbox. Like an idiot I updated the Slingbox Firmware at the same time, now all I have is a blinking red light.

Here is what I would do.

  1. Assign a static LAN address to the Mac ID of the Slingbox. (it's on the label on the bottom of the Slingbox)
  2. Setup a port forward (like 5001( to the IP adress you just setup for you Slingbox
  3. Unplug, then plug back in the Slingbox
  4. Reset the box, using the button on the back and holding down for 5 secs.
  5. Run the setup wizard and make sure everything works.
  6. Watch and enjoy Smile
If that does not work, let us know.

How do I assign a static ip address to a Mac address on a Linksys router WRT54GS?
