Hi

I have some issues with my slingbox. After connecting to the slingbox with the player, the box starts streaming with 1500 - 3000. (Over LAN). This is nice, but after some minutes the bandwith starts to go down and then it stops playing.

I am using the newest firmware/player version and a already did a reset/new installation.

Sometimes it helps to just restart the player and the box will stream again for a minute, but sometimes this does not help either. Even disconnecting the slingbox from the power does not always resolve the problem. Only if a wait for a long time it starts to work again.

My idea is that perhaps the box is overheating. This would explain why it works when the box is still "cold", but this is not really a solution to the problem...?

If you are using a DLink router, there is a bug that causes the SlingPlayer software to not function properly. There isn't a solution other than to switch routers.

I don't have a problem with my dlink router DIR-130. But it could very well be your router overheating. Or any other network device in between. This will only get worse as the overheating device gets more and more damaged.

The model is slingbox av, sn240-100. I'm using a wrt160n linksys router with dd-wrt firmware.

The problem occures when streaming over wlan and over lan (directly connected to the router).

If your slingbox has a static IP (Which it should) Assign a static IP to your computer and connect directly to it with a crossover cable. Then you can see if it's your slingbox or router.

I had the same problem, my slingbox would work for 20 minutes if it was dead cold. 4 minutes tops if it was warm. I had to replace the unit, and now all is well. I fought that problem for 30 days till I finally gave up and called for an exchange unit.

I had the same problem but in my case it was definately the router overheating.
