As some of you may have noticed, we have a nifty new polling feature on the SlingCommunity homepage. I plan to change this out every week or so with new questions to gauge the pulse of the community on certian topics.

While I can (and will) throw out questions that I want to ask, I also want to toss out questions that YOU want to ask. If you have a great poll suggestion, please post it here and it just may wind up for vote on the SlingCommunity Homepage!

Please include your question and 2 to 8 (ideally 4 or 6) multiple choice answers.  Have fun!

I don't have what may be a great poll question but am curious as to what most people have as a slingbox, Pro, Classic, AV, etc.

But I did notice you have a new poll on the home page and the first poll results here.

Looking at that one it looks like most people are wanting the Slingcatcher.

I am expatriate living in Bangkok. I'm curious how many of us are slinging TV for long international distances. How about asking where in the world we are regularly watching Slingboxes internationally? (Asking by continent and subcontinent i.e.: East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, etc.)

Great Poll idea Goattee! I'm limited to how many choices I can use in a poll, so I may not be able to drill down by subcontient like east, west, etc for all of them. I'll put your poll up shortly.

I'd love to hear other poll ideas, so don't be shy!

Besides aren't the new flags feature supposed to show that?

Not exactly. The flags indicate your home country of origin (I'm in the US, so I have the US flag). Goattee's poll (the way I read it) is geared toward asking users where they watch their Slingbox from when outside their country. In other words, where are people travelling to where they use their Slingbox the most.

Great question though. :-)

There are really two separate issues:

- the more general one that would be relevant to anyone in the community who travels internationally

- the more specific one about expatriates

The second one interests me more because there is a significant group of people like me who depend on their Slingbox back home as a lifeline. The further away you are from home, the more likely that local media won't adequately satisfy the expatriate. (I can follow the presidential campaign closely and keep up with the latest news and TV shows.)

So I think you have two polls or even three:

- Do you ever access your Slingbox internationally?

- Are you an expatriate? Where are you located?

The new flag features will show that, but unfortunatley not enough people are using them. Everyone should go to their profile setup and select theirs.

I see what you're saying; the expatriate is a slightly different situation from someone who may just 'travel' internationally.
