I have a slingbox pro set up in the US.  My friend is military (in Egypt) and we want to sling to his computer,  however he is not here to set up his computer on the network.  I am a newbie at this.  Can anyone tell me how to get this working?

He just needs to download the Sling Player software from the Sling website then put in the Sling Finder ID and yo should be fine.

Slingbox Pro Slinging Comcast Analog and HD via Comcast Internet using AirLink Powerline adapters; Slingbox Classic Slinging Sunddenlink Analog Cable and DirecTV HR21 via Sunddenlink Internet, using netgear powerline adapters.

Yeah - as long as the Slingbox is installed and remote viewing is working, he just needs to download SlingPlayer and install it. Then he'll need the username and password from you, and the Slingbox's Finder ID.

As an alternative you might wish to simply send him your WHOLE 'SlingMedia' folder from the 'Program Files' folder of the computer you have used to setup yhe slingbox. (You can use Yahoo Messenger, it works really fine!). The only thing that he will have to do after having received the folder, is to open the it, locate the 'Slingplayer' executable (.exe), create a shortcut of the'.exe' on the desktop and launch yhe Slingplayer WITHOUT actually installing the player on his computer. He could also make a copy of the folder, put it on an USB key, go to somebodyelse's computer, plug the key, locate the Slinplayer.exe and launch it without installation , of course. Do not forget to make sure that you both have available the same archiving program (like Zip or RAR), because Yahoo or other messaging program won't send a folder, but only a file, so you will have to archive the 'Slingmedia' folder before sending it. Your friend will have to decompress it and that,s all! Good luck! If you have any other question, don't hesitate asking!

Slinging from Romania and watching in Canada

LouisRO,

Nice reply. I see you are from Canada, because you set this up in your user profile. It would be cool if everyone did that. It's kinda fun seeing where everyone is from.
