I don't have an imac, but I think the Slingbox needs to be connected directly to a router, not your laptop.

just got an imac, time capsule and a slinglink. and trying to connect the two, but so far no luck. shoudl they not just recognize each other. previous config was on a pc using wireless game adaptor, but I no longer have that so the reason for the slinglink.

I'm not sure where the Time Capsule enters into this, it is unrelated to the Slingbox or Slinglink devices, I'd thing.
The Slinglink devices are basically network bridges. One is designed to be plugged into a router, switch, etc, and the other one connects to the Slingbox. So I'm not sure how you're wiring all this up.
-MegaZone, Sling Media Beta Manager
Slingbox Pro, HD Connect, TiVo Series3, TiVo Pioneer DVR-810H, SPM Treo 680, SP WinXP
(I also run GizmoLovers.com)
thx for the responses. slingbox is wired to the slinglink (and plugged in directly to an outlet), and the other end is plugged in to my router (the time capsule). I just cannot see where to recognize the slinglink on the time capsule? It is plugged in to one of the ethernet portson the time capsule. all appropriate lights on both slinglinks are on correctly.
You should have the connection as follows.
Internet->Modem->Time Capsule->Slinglink(a)->Slinglink(b)->Slingbox.
Internet->Modem->Time Capsule->iMac
The time capsule won't recognize the slinglink anywhere. Think of it as just a network cable with different connectors at the end.
Did you forget your password?
You can also log in using OpenID.
I should have added, both slinglink devices have all of the lights on, and I connected the slingbox directly to a laptop I have with no issues, but when I disconnect I cannot connect on the iMac.
thanks
