Even though they have your ID, they don't have your password. So I doubt they got in.
I have never had anyone say they caught Sling Media doing anything funny like that.

Please tell me if this has ever happened to you...
I got home the other day and found that my 200 disc changer was on, which is connected to a new AV Slingbox that no one but me has the access codes for...and I didn't turn it on...
I am curious to know if anyone else has had this happen to them...
The reason I ask if Slingbox ever tests random Slingboxes is because after you set one up, you are asked to register them. That registration includes your Finder ID. You can edit that info at https://slingaccounts.slingmedia.com/ but I'm wondering if someone on the other end is having fun with other people's Finder ID's, or if someone has hacked this site and gotten away with Finder ID's.
What do you think???

No way. Sling people only connect to boxes of folks who opt-in (for trouble-shooting, for beta-testing, etc).

Zatz Not Funny!
As above - no, we absolutely do NOT do that. And, as Brandon pointed out, the Finder ID is just like a DNS record. All Finder ID does is resolve to the public IP of the Slingbox. Without a username and password you still can't connect.
