Hi everyone, I just found this community and would very much appreciate some help!!   I've had a Slingbox Classic for over a year, and have it hooked up to my basement TV in my home office, where my Linksys Wireless N Router is.  (WRT300N V1).  I just puchased a Slingbox AV, and want to hook it up to my DVR in one of the bedrooms.  I need help with which wireless bridge to purchase, and I'm worried I might be getting in over my head...  I saw the recommended bridges on SlingMedia's site and they are all for Wireless G... I also called Linksys to ask if there was a wireless bridge for N, and was told no.  I also have seen there is an N gaming adapter from Linksys, and have seen a post somewhere where someone used that to hook up a Slingbox.  Anyone have any experience with Linksys Wireless N routers  and bridges?  Also, is this going to be difficult to set-up?  Do I have to know about setting up a network?  Thanks.

You could avoid the headaches and try powerline adapters. They are resonably priced and work well. I personally haven't used the N gaming adapter but the reviews of it have been great, you'd need to know your settings for your network to install it. But once a gaming adapter is set up they are pretty easy to use. I am assuming your in ATL you might want to watch Fry's for a sale, they often put their Arilink powerline adapters on sale for $19.99 that is a great price if you can get them.

Thanks for the advice... I'll keep checking out Fry's ads / website. That would be a lot cheaper if I can catch a sale. Will using a powerline adapter be as good as using a wireless bridge? Also, if I can't get the Arilink, is there another brand that would be good? Any I should stay away from? Thanks again for your help.

There are a lot of brands of powerline adapters (Netgear, Linksys etc), including one from Slingmedia. I just think the price of the Airlink can't be beat. They are listed at $59.99 but as I said on sale they go for $19.99. I like them better than wireless becuase sometimes your wireless signal can drop.

Hi: I am also a new owner of a SBAV.
New to SB period.

Is the consensus of the SB community powerline > wireless bridge?

I have a newer house circa 2002 built, & a buddy of mine's said that powerlines may not work because of 'circuits not meshing up'.

Not sure what he is talking about so can any1 shed some light on the pros & cons of powerline vs. wireless bridges? thanks
