With the new 3G capabilities of the iphone, we now finally have what we've all been waiting for...a slingable iphone - or maybe I should say the possibility of one! I’m pretty sure that Slingbox has expressed such an interest and I know that there are some rumors circulating out there that an iphone Slingplayer may come to surface in the "near" future (which haven’t yet been confirmed). The obvious problem however, is that Apple is most likely trying to hold off as long as they can in agreeing to such an app, as they don't want it to interfere with their ITunes sales. I don't know about you, but I have a big problem with a company getting a huge amount of my business and still trying to squeeze every last penny out of me. I'm also tired of companies treating their consumers as though they're powerless (and I'm not specifcally referring to Apple). I'm writing this letter to all the Slingbox owners out there (and future owners) as a petition to unite. As I’m already in the process of doing, please join me and write to Apple expressing your interest in bringing Slingbox to the iphone. Let's come together as consumers and tell the company what WE want - it only takes 5 minutes and it's the only way we'll ever get them to respond. If you’d like me to type up a generic letter please sign this post and I’ll type it up and post it for everyone to use.

Apple isn't responsible for Sling software development and there is no information that indicates they are blocking it. The key thing we're waiting for is an implementation of the Slingplayer with the iPhone development kit and then we wait and see.

What Sling demoed earlier was an implementation on a jailbroken iPhone that was not implemented with the iPhone developer's kit. So that work needs to be ported, optimized for performance, and then we will see.

All of us iPhone + slingbox users want it, but pestering Apple accomplishes nothing at all.

I agree with Evev12. I'm sure Sling wants to put out a player for this new great platform but Apple and AT&T are holding it. We should be pressuring them.

If Sling made a demo version without using Apple SDK, that shows they are eager to tap the iPhone market.
