Hi

I know the answer to my question will be pretty much speculation, but as long as we are waiting for them..... Wink

How big (or small) a jump in picture quality (over WAN, not LAN), will you guys expect to get with the launch of the new Slingbox PRO HD and Slingplayer 2.0? Using h.264 as a codec shoud give a least some picture improvement, right?

best regards

I don't have a pro so I cant tell you for sure, but so long as you have the bandwidth I would expect you to see improvement for a number of reasons.

For now, in the current version, if you have the available bandwidth on both sides, be sure you have slingstream turned off and set your encoding options manually. I have a SOLO and watch at 640x480 all the time with no lag or hiccups.

Right now I stream with about 14-1500 kbps, and I use the 640x480 option. I get an ok picture quality (not always 30 fps), but I wouldn't mind an even better one :)
