I'm using Airport Extreme 802.11n rectangular router.
slingplayer can't find the slingbox. so i'm trying to open up port 5001 as suggested by others.
however, the airport utility is requiring me to put in the ip address of the slingplayer
how do I get this information?
something odd is the airport utility requires me to put the ip address for the slingbox in there starting with 10.0.1.XXX

Arizona, United StatesYou should not have to open port 5001 except to use internet viewing.
I don't know anything about the Airport Extreme, but can you assign an internal LAN address to the MAC address of your SLing box? If so, assign it an address, then turn on 5001 for that address.
