Just got my AV yesterday. Tried installing from my nice laptop that runs everything fine. Well, everything except slingplayer. I get the above error after "Seeing" the slingbox, and hitting connect, you see it connect, then start to stream, and get the above error.

Tech support says it's my computer, and they are right, installed the sling player on 2 other computers, runs fine.

Never a problem with this computer, and all my PC's are XP pro SP3, etc. One weird thing, during the install, a window popped up and said something like "you are missing Windows Media Components needed, they must be at least verion 9.5 or higher".

The tech support people did not home in on this, just told me the error message is basically my fault.

Look up this error and you get all kinds of weird things and I've tried them all, believe me, went through all of Microsoft support, and Google. This error can be a lot of things, sort of basically a registry problem, or permissions problem.

Maybe someone will key in on this "Windows Media Components" issue.

(Yes also tried to roll back WMP, and reinstall, I'm at WMP11).
