Hi

I currently have a linksys wrt54gs set up with my slingbox in the US, when I am overseas, I can usually use it a few times before I get the error message about setting up system for remote viewing. I am usually away from home for many months at a time, so it is not possible to reset everything at home regularly. Are there any solutions to my problem to ensure a dependable service? I have seen that some people recommend putting a timer on the router, and others have had solutions involving port forwarding. I welcome all solutions (including purchasing a new router or addtional hardware). Thank you.

Update your firmware on your router with an open source firmware, (DD-WRT, Hyper-WRT, etc..) setup remote login on the router.. Next time you have a problem, login to your router, click reboot, start slinging again..
