Confirmed on a friend of mine's Slingbox and his completely separate Windows PC with Office 2007.
I have Microsoft Outlook 2007 (newest updates/SPs) running with my corporate exchange server. I have it set to automatically spell check when I send an email. Normally, when I send an email, the spell check window for Outlook 2007 will come up with a word highlighted in red and suggestions for replacement words.
Today I went to send an email and a mispelled word showed up in red for a few seconds with replacements, then it automatically changed to gray with suggestions grayed out. This is the same thing that happens if you try and type in a replacement word without using a suggested replacement. I hadn't typed anything though. I cancelled out of the spell checker and tried a few times. Clicking on the Spell check window also caused everything to go "gray" just like someone was typing in a replacement word. This isn't the normal functionality of the Spell checker.
I figured some application that I was running might be causing the problem. I had just opened Slingplayer Beta 2.0 a little while earlier (5 minutes or so) and I don't normally run Slingplayer 24/7. So I closed SlingPlayer beta 2.0 and the problem with MS Outlook Spell Check went away. I opened SlingPlayer again and the problem with Microsoft Outlook Spell Check came back.
Not sure why this is happening, unless Sling Player is some how sending hidden characters into the MS Spell Check window or messing with that screen handle or something?
Do you think this could be related to a post of mine from a couple of years ago? http://www.slingcommunity.com/forum/thread/16771/Slingplayer-types-a-letter--...
If so, Sling Media, can we PLEASE!!!! get this bug squashed? It was only somewhat fixed in SlingPlayer 1.5. OneNote still shows this behavior.
