Are you using a software firewall, such as Norton or Mcafee?? or using windows defender or windows firewall, try this, disable all of these and run the wizard again. One other thing does your router support universal plug n play if it does get rid of the entry in the router table for port forwarding, UPnP should take care of you router. Let's us know

Hey there, wonder if anybody could help a first time SlingBox user...
I'm using a Slingbox Solo with a Linksys WRT150N.
On my local network everything seems to be working fine, with the image and sound perfect (both red lights brightly lit on the Slingbox)
Unfortunately, I just can't set it up to use outside my network. When i run the setup assistant it after it "Verifys Remote Viewing" it fails and comes up with the "Your slingbox can't be reached from the internet. Please check your router's port forwarding settings".
I've tried forwarding Port 5001 using the router login, but it still doesn't do the trick... Any ideas? Thanks for any help in advance!
Thanks for your swift reply!
Unfortunately, I am not behind any type of firewall, and yes upnp is switched on in the router login settings.... I removed the port forwarding entry from the table as well, but still no go..
Any other ideas mate? Thanks again for your help!!
What operating system are you using? in the network panel under control panel do you have any other protocols listed beside IP? I looked at the tech notes for the router, what I found is there is a firmware upgrade for the router the new version is 1.01.9 dates 7/11/2007 this update fixes a slew of problems including a DHCP issue. Take a look at the routers firmware version if it is different upgrade the firmware, I would do that anyway. I have chased my tail many times with these routers. Let me know
Craig
One other thing, if you decide to update the router, after doing the update remove power for 30 seconds from the router and try it again
boomer man... You've been so helpful and i gotta thank you for that!
Unfortunately, the problem's still there.... Router already has the latest firmware and everything else router wise seems to be fine... I have a very bad feeling that it could well be my ISP, who doesn't assign a public IP, but one behind a NAT. I'm going to try it out at a friends place (who has a different ISP) and then i'll know for sure...
Thanks again for your help man!
