I just purchased slingbox and the wireless slinglink turbo... Also, I have a linksys router.

When I completed the setup the network light was blinking on the slingbox... I disconnected it and connected it directly to my router. My router has 4 ports, three computers and the slingbox. All the lights on my modem are lid... and solid...

I reset the slingbox but nothing changes... i disconnect router, cable modem... nothing

What is there that I can do to fix this? Is there a way to connect slingbox to my computer some other way... in order to update to the newest firmware? I dont know if that fixes the issue... but I dont understand why when the slingbox is directly connected to the router the light is blinking...

Thanks

Do you have DHCP turned on on your router? If not, you will need to do so initially. When you run SlingPlayer - do you see the Slingbox or not?

I think you are taking the right troubleshooting steps - connect the Slingbox directly to the router. If that isn't working, then do a factory reset by holding down the reset button for about 20 seconds until all the lights start blinking. You said you did a reset but did you get to the point of the reset?

Also, is this a new Slingbox or did you buy it used? I've seen used ones have a problem with their power supply and while the box powers up it doesn't work right since the supply is bad. If you bought your box used, it is possible that you have a bad supply.

I figured out the DHCP, and it is on "Enable" status... so I guess it's on...

Hmmm...

What brand/model router do you have? When you say your router has 4 ports, is that 4 LAN ports and one WAN port or is that 3 LAN ports and one WAN port? If you connect your Slingbox to the WAN port, it won't work.

My router is a linksys 2.4ghz and it has 4 LAN ports and one WAN. On the WAN port I have the cable modem , and I'm using the 4 LANs for the 3 pcs and the slingbox.

I also tried taking all the pcs off leaving just the slingbox with no results...
