I am not particularly pleased with this new version either... I don't know if the problem is with the player or the new firmware it uploaded to my slingbox pro. The HD component input looks real nice, but the coax tuner input now looks like blocky garbage at full screen. It's not pleasant to watch at all now...
switching between standard and hd signals sometimes give an error message "unsupported signal (like 1080p) is connected"
I'm using a slingbox solo and os 10.5.5.
I'm also having issues gettting the standard signals to display in 4:3 windows....they only want to display in the widescreen window.
I dual boot into windows xp sp3 and I upgraded to the 2.0 slingplayer last week. I had no problems with 1.04 on the mac side after upgrading to 2.0 on the windows side. Everything worked great until this crappy 1.06
Wow... After using this new version for a while, I can safely say it is beyond horrible... I can only assume there is some issue with the new firmware it uploaded onto my slingbox pro. I am not only getting very blocky poor compression artifacts on my computer, but this is now showing up on my Treo to the point of making it unbearable to watch (even with 200k+ bandwidth). I guess I will be making a call to sling support tomorrow...
Anyone know how to revert the firmware?
I too have had serious issues with the "unsupported signal (like 1080p) is connected" error since I the 1.06 upgrade.
Is there a firmware repository somewhere? I would like my slingbox to function again (it's been working great for years).

I thought I was having a similar problem when remote viewing on my BT Broadband (Option 3: the Jesus-pack) in the UK (Slinging from Utah, USA). Before the firmware update I would stream along at between 500 kbps and 900 kbps. After the update it would go as low as 100 kbps, but usually stabilizes around 250 kbps - 500 kbps. The stream is occasionally choppy and blocky, but I can't remember what the old stream quality was like to make a comparison.
My first thought was to the firmware update. My second thought was that BT was throttling me down during peak times.
But now I've been on a business trip to the States for a few weeks now and have used the Slingplayer at a local community center wireless hotspot with blazing results: sometimes over 1,200 kbps!
I can only assume that distance and internet download quality is what is giving me reduced quality in the UK.
