My SlingBox Pro is currently about 3000 miles away from me. While v.1.4 is currently working, it has some connectivity issues much of the time. So, I've just downloaded the latest desktop player (1.6), but I'm hesitant to install it because I'm afraid it'll stop seeing my SlingBox. (I do have the SlingBox ID #, but I've seen that area grayed out in the past).
My questions are:
1.Has anyone updated the desktop player from a remote location, and have they had any problems after that?
2. Is it worth the risk if I update to the new versio.
3. Are there any benefits in connection speeds if I use a proxy server, rather than the SB ID?

Algonquin, United StatesAre you on a Mac? Do you mean 1.0.6? If you are on a PC, the latest version is 2.0.
There's no problem updating the client no matte what platform and no matter where you are. You won't lose anything.
