I'm having a similar problem. A channel will be fine for a few minutes, then the top suddenly gets cut off and appears at the bottom (separated by some black). It's quite annoying. If I restart slingplayer it seems to work fine, but always happens again.
Advice would be appreciated.
Hello All,
Just set up my new Slingbox Pro HD, and it is great. one problem, on some channels when viewing on my Computer or my Cell Phone, the picture is not lined up vertically. It looks like the imagine has drooped vertically, causing the bottom of the picture to be on the top of the screen, and the top of the picture to be in the middle (kind of like on old TVs before cable when the screen would flip a bit, but it just stays that way). Has anyone encountered this problem before?
Thank you for your help.

I have the same issue too with the SlingboxHD...I get vertical line when changing channels...no idea how to fix
I just replaced my calssic with the HD-Pro. A plug, I can't say enough about the picture quality. I would say it doubled my picture quality reciving the same BPS.
I am also having the split screen problem. It happenes everytime I change channels. Turning it off and on is works to restore the aligment. Its getting old doing this so much.
Can anyone point me in a direction to solve this?
I have the same split screen problem with my new Slingbox HD Pro I just purchased Oct. 30th. I have the newwest firmware. I called Slingbox support and they are going to get back with me in 48 hours.
I added a DVR which replaced the cable box and the problem disappeared. It must be a problem of the software communicating with the cable box. My old cable box was not listed as a choice, this new one was listed. Thats the only difference I can see.
I have the same problem with my slingcatchers. After a few hours of being connected, the picture shifts. I have to disconnect and reconnect to fix it.

Thats the only difference I can see.The software doesn't do any communication with the cable box or any other box for that matter with exception of sending infrared remote control commands none of which have anything to do with veritcal sync. This seems like simply a matter of the Slingbox loosing track of vertical sync from an input signal.
Same thing.
11/16/08 - Set up a new Slingbox Pro HD.
Everything works great....except the vert. sync.
Client = MacBook Pro, SlingPlayer 1.0.6.244
I'm on 1.1.250 firmware from 9/19/2008
Anybody got a fix?
Thanks.

Has anyone found a resolution for this? I have had the same problem and after a 2 hour call to tech support, their resolve was to change the S-Video cable. That did not fix the problem nor did the firmware upgrade. I am thinking that maybe this has to do with the older Motorola cable boxes.
I've been having this problem for months with a direcTV DVR. Really bumming me out since Sling is usually so good. If I restart the software it gets fixed, but that's not a really good answer. Does anyone from Sling Media read these forums????
I returned the box.
Like above, I was dealing with an old Motorola cable box.
PUNT!
Bump - Anyone found a resolution to this issue, I get the same problem and it's getting really annoying. Slingbox Pro HD with latest offical firmware. While watching TV on the SVideo input no issue but watching a video on the HD input it's an issue.
The feed is usually fine for about 20-30 minutes then it looses sync and the screnn is split. The only way to resolve it is to exit the movie, change to another screen and the return.
The output feeding the Slinbox is 1080i and I see 8200 kbps in the slingbox over my network. Picture and audio are great while it's working
Any idea?
I have this problem, I setup another input and you can switch between them to fix it.
I reported it as a bug when I first got it but they told me it was my tuner box which is bull. If it was my tuner then changing inputs wouldn't fix the vsync issue.
Good news for me at least it appears the 1.3.170 Firmware that came out on 9/22/2009 fixed my problem with it dropping my Coax input. Lets hope the next update fixes the vsync bug.
