I was thinking about getting Sling so my old folks can watch my Apple TV content from their location in the UK (I’m in Memphis) and was wondering two things: Does the ATV and Sling make a good combination?Which Sling box to get (is the new HD box wasted on the ATV?) Any advice from existing users would help greatly.

I'd say the new slingbox pro HD for the following reasons:

The Apple TV can download/export movies at 720P HD resolutions. The Slingbox HD Pro could "sling" that resolution to your parents as long as the upload speed at the slinbox location is fast enough.

the bottom line is how much upload speed is actually available to you in regards to picture quality of any slingbox model; however the HD pro overall gives better picture under simular circumstances then the previous versions.

PS on another note; it works great in conjunction with the "sling catcher"; expecially since the new firmware release yesterday that resolved alot of issues people were having upon it's release over the last couple of weeks.

If your parents aren't computer inclined; this may infact be a valid solution for their needs.....
