Found another forum discussing IR Remotes... It was suggested that you get a lot of the functions if you setup for DVD player, brand = Magnavox, Model = MSR 906D. I tried it myself (own same HDD model as you), and it's pretty close.

I don't have quite complete functionality, (such as switching between HDD and DVD), but was able to play select and play items stored on the HDD, or after switching manually to DVD, could play DVD titles, access special features menu, etc. I was also able to return to the tuner.
