Found another forum discussing IR Remotes... It was suggested that you get a lot of the functions if you setup for DVD player, brand = Magnavox, Model = MSR 906D. I tried it myself (own same HDD model as you), and it's pretty close.
I don't have quite complete functionality, (such as switching between HDD and DVD), but was able to play select and play items stored on the HDD, or after switching manually to DVD, could play DVD titles, access special features menu, etc. I was also able to return to the tuner.

I just recently purchased the MAGNAVOX H2080MW8, but ir codes are not listed with SLINGBOX, not this hardware. Anyone know if it will be added, or if I can substitute something else to make it work??

I checked these 2 and you are right that the MSR 906D uses similar codes. I have produced a test remote for the H2080MW8 that also maps the HDD and DVD (along with TimeShift and Timer Record) to the colour buttons.
