My cable provider is Comcast Cable and I am trying to hook up a DCH 3416 Hd box to a sling solo. I am switching from a Pace standard box to this new one. I used to have s-video hooked up on the Pace standard box and now i want to use component video. I use the sling configuration assistant and choose component video and then go to the next page where it says to select the video source and the dropdown box is blank, I can not choose anything, and of course i can go no further than that as it tells me i have to choose a box. Can anyone help me.

Doesn't make much sense.. You might try factory resetting the Solo.

Slinging Tivo HD, Tivo S2, and OTA from a Pro HD, Tivo HD from a Pro, Tivo HD from a Solo, and Humax DRT800 from a Classic to iPhone, Dell Inspiron 1520 with Sprint EVDO, and a SlingCatcher over Mi-Connection cable with 2Mbps upload.

Thanks for the reply. I reset the box and tried again and no luck, I changed the video to svideo and it didn't make any difference and when i choose the connection type it still says unconfigured beside it, no matter which connection type i choose. however i do get the live video feed in the little box in the upper left, depending on which video i have connected. example: component video hooked up to the box shows the live video feed in the upper box, but the component selection in the lower box still says unconfigured. When i go to the next page there is no selections in the drop down box on the configure video source page. I even uninstalled the sling player program and restarted the computer and reinstalled the program again with a fresh download from sling media. and reset the box and went through a completely new installation and still the very same thing happens.

Just to let everyone know what the problem was. It turned out to be my virus software was keeping the dropdown boxes from working in the setup assistant. I contacted sling support and they worked me through everything. all is working perfectly now. They say that sometimes that happens when using windows vista. I disabled my virus software and it worked fine and then reenabled it after setting it up. It even works on my spm on my blackberry, so now i am a happy camper.
