Just accessed the sling.com site to watch my Sling HD pro and i have to admit, it looks worse than what the Sling player software can display.

I thought the web-based solution was going to be improved over the player software.
I'm streaming at ~2000kbps and the Wx Channel HD visual looks terrible and totally out of sync.....

Bummer.

It's a beta, and from the sound of it, an early one. I wouldn't judge too harshly until the final product.

Make sure you give them whatever feedback you can at http://sling.uservoice.com/pages/3116-sling-com-live-tv-player The more folks that give feedback the better the final product should be.

There are issues in the build that cause the image not to be so good. Expect it to improve but do complain!

I'm finding that there are server issues with the Mac WBSP. I initially had video/audio quality issues, but it turned out that this was due to a BW cap in beta firmware I had loaded on my ProHD. After reverting to the released FW on my box, I had some difficulty in getting both Safari and FireFox to load up my stream. Once I got it going, it was perfect !

Unfortunately, I can no longer get the WBSP for Mac to load. It gets to the discovering slingboxes stage and the the browser just quits.

Please keep in mind that your NDA with Sling Media prohibits you from making statements regarding having beta software on your computer or Slingbox. This includes any discussions of testing or any comments such as above. Please be careful next time not to mention things like this.

I have been using the beta software for about a week. For me the picture is very good in the standard mode...better than sling 1.08. I am very impressed. Not only is the picture better but it is more consistent unlike 1.08 where the image will vary based on the bandwidth. I have been using the beta sling.com software instead of the sling 1.08 Mac clients. I not had an stability issues. I have been using Firefox 3.x. The sound is a bit off at times but not bad (at times out of synch or choppy). There does seem to be some issues with the Comcast "remote" for my Comcast box. When I try and change channels about 75% of the time pushing the channel up/down button does nothing. I would like to see a resizable window. There only seems to be two sizes...the pretty small standard size and "full screen"...when I go to Full screen the image is a bit blurry because of my large monitor vs the sling resolution. I would like to be able to resize the window to intermediate sizes so I can better match the sling.com output with the window size to maintain top image quality. Otherwise, a good start!
