If you're an iPhone owner and a Slinger, I don't envy you. Not being able to Sling over cellular must be very limiting, and if you're anything like me, I like my TV truly anywhere.

That said, I know a lot of people are passionate about their iPhones. But, if you are a passionate Slinger who loves TV on the go, which one is going to win out in the end? So I ask, "Are you going to replace your iPhone because you can't Sling over 3G?"

Why no question like this... You travel with your Iphone and laptop on trips both locally and internationally?

Can you live without your Iphone and laptop or can you live without your sling?

Good point. I didn't take into account those who jailbreak. I've added that as a poll option.

I seriously feel this will cause Apple to lose a small percentage of iPhone users as they may just switch over to a Blackberry that allows mobile slinging.

If it's a bet, I'll take it! Apple's iPhone sales are soaring whether Sling works out of the box with 3G/Edge or not. The only one that may suffer is AT&T. Apple doesn't want to be associated with any bad press. Watch for other carriers this year. Put the heat on AT&T!

Jailbroke my iphone and slingbox worked perfectly over 3G,Apple is just forcing people to jailbreak.De-jailbroke for 3.0 but will jailbreak again after.Apple wake up,they must lose out hand over fist when people jailbreak,i didnt pay for anything whilst jailbroke (apart from slingplayer !!)
when is slingplayer getting updates on iphone (page up and down doesnt work in guide and logos needed for favourites)

I jailbroke my iphone because of this sling player for iphone. I installed Tricker3g and now I sling while on the train on the way to work. It is incredible and doesnt use a whole lot of data

Trying out the Windows Mobile version, stupid trial, this should be free... maybe. It's just that I don't use it much, it's far too small and quality depends on the area but knowing me I'm probably going to get it anyway. The iPhone version would be cooler given the iPhone's screen size but with all the problems of lack of 3G and whatnot, I'm better off with my BlackJack II.

I have have 3 versions, iPhone, Tilt PPC and a Blackjack original and they all work good (MS vers were free for beta testing). It's not the size of the screen but the information or entertainment value. Use a PC if you want size. This is your 1st post here... do some searching on jailbreaking the iPhone... 3G works well on it.

The question on the poll should be: Do you regret buying your slingbox because of this defective, crippled product that wont work properly anywhere in the world because of ONE phone provider in the USA.

And also:
Will you buy anything else from slingbox or recomend slingbox until this is fixed?

Its irrelevant whether its slingbox or apple or AT&T to blame for this. Slingbox need to step up  show some backbone, and represent and fight for their customers rights.

Of course ths major flaw has let them duck under the other flaws in this lousy product, like no "guide", no support for wide screen, etc. which they woud have been getting beat up for big time if they werent overshadowed by the product being useless to anything but a jailbroken phone, hence useless to the general public.

$29.95US to be a beta tester, thanks sling!

I pay for my iPhone3G plan which give me "Unlimited Internet Access". I jailbroke "my" phone and will continue to sling on my DD-WRT maximum encrypted VPN until they want to cancel a loyal customer. Then I may just unlock and go elsewhere...
