Just remember when the update bar gets to the end. It may sit there for as long as 10 minutes before the box restarts. I think mine took about 6 minutes this time to restart on it's own.
Installing now....
You might need to restart your box for the software update to work.
For the last 10 minutes I was getting weird issues, so I restarted my box and player and got the update notice.
The weird issues was before I was prompted to upgrade. I got several messages I could not connect and log in to slingmedia and check your internet connection.
After I rebooted the slingbox, the software prompted me to upgrade. And everything went smooth. The reboot was quick.
I have only watched about 10 minutes with 1.3.80 so far.
But something is really wrong with my picture's color.
I thought it might of just been the channel or show, but I switch to 3 stations and everything looks OFF...
please let me know if you notice anything different about picture color.
Just updated.. Everything looks good to me. I would like to know whats changed however..
Just let the install do its thing. This version loads perfect.
- Blackberry 8830
- Sling Pro
I didn't know anything about picture quality issues until i came here, so i don't think i was biased, but i did notice a drop in picture quality. Compression was more visible, lower framerate at times, even at 2Mbps+ bitrate, on a 26 inches asus monitor.
Is there a way to roll back ? I mean, can anyone post the previous firmware somewhere ? I wish i'd kept it. I'll do that from now on.
You may want to see this report:
http://www.slingcommunity.com/forum/thread/36175/ProHD-SB-in-UK-Yes/?page=3#1...
But, these tests are in the UK for 25 frames per second source; I can't tell what would happen with a 30 frames/second source.
Changes in 1.3.80 for Slingbox, directly from support:
Improved video quality
Hybrid tuning support for the Slingbox PRO-HD
Online Slingbox registration added; plus users can store their Slingbox ID online for easy access
Improved Slingbox Setup Assistant: New setup and configuration screens are streamlined and easier to use
Users can rapidly cycle between Fullscreen (4:3), Widescreen (16:9), Letterbox, Windowbox, Pillarbox modes
Show / Hide player controls with one-click toggle

Can anyone please upload the previous fw i think is the 1.2.100
Please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The previous firmware versions are included in the previous version of the slingplayer. Do you have that installed still?
I upgraded the firmware hoping that they fixed/improved clearQAM tuning. They did not.
I think the SD content looks worse than the previous version, but the HD content looks fine to me, at least connected locally. I will check out the remote viewing tomorrow.
I'm really glad i'm so messy ! I found old installers floating all around my hard drives ! You can extract the firmware files without actually installing the older player version using 7-zip > right click > open archive and then navigate to the firmware folder. (usually disk one > slingplayer > firmware)
I've put together all the firmware versions i could find for all the different slingbox models, v1.2.100 for the pro HD is among them. Can you please confirm that this is the previous version ?

Enjoy, but please use at your own risk ! I shouldn't be held responsible for any Slingbox catching on fire, defenestration whatsoever...
Sort by name for easier browsing.
I'll try to roll back mine.
Best
Forgot about the hex edit trick...
You have to hex edit the file to trick the player into thinking it's a newer version or it won't upgrade. Still, Slingplayer v2.0 will see through it, so you need to use v1.5...
It's doable, but not too straightforward. My pro-HD rolled back OK. I'll keep that firmware until one comes out that everyone is happy with.
I sent e-mails out yesterday to see if I can get a change log or at least some highlights. I'll post what I hear back in the news section.

That was a big firmware number jump.
