I want to allow access to my brother in Vancouver (I'm in Scotland) to my Slingbox.

How do I set that up? He obviously needs the Slingplayer but what does he need to do to find my slingbox?

What other apps run upstream? I don't do any filesharing. Can I monitor rates using some tool or other?

I mean if your antivirus is working... because some Trojans can eat up the upstream speed but i think it's clean ;-).

I think I'm good - I'm running AVG and the MS Defender thing too

Where do you normally Sling to, or are you just on your LAN? Can you borrow a friend's internet connection and see how you go on Slinging to there - try to work out where the bottlekneck is.

On my wireless lan I get 3mbps - all is good. It's only when I share to my bro in Vancouver I get an issue. I'll try on a friend's connection to see what I get.
