I recently bought a new mac computer.  I've been using my slingbox/slingplayer with no problems for about 2 years now with a windows pc (and the newly purchased slingcatcher).

I installed the slingplayer on my mac, added the slingfinder IDs to my slingboxes, but everytime I go to connect, I get an error (for both boxes) that says that I should check to make sure they are set for port forwarding and to check the connection overall.

I already have the port forwarding set up from the location the slingbox is at.  Has anyone else seen a problem like this?  Thoughts? Comments?

Thanks for any help

Does it work via a local LAN connection with the mac? You should also rerun the Internet viewing setup software locally on the stand alone Slingplayer program to make sure it gives you a success notice.

If you can connect to your Slingbox with SlingPlayer for Windows or Mac OS, but not with SlingPlayer Mobile or SlingCatcher, Click here for something to try

I have not tried it via the local LAN connection. My slingbox is out of state at my parents home, so that I can still get some of my home town sports games where I now reside. I will have to try that as a next step.

I will try both of what you suggested hopefully soon, just have to use this as an excuse to make a trip.

It's just very odd. I turn on my old windows PC, no problem. Turn on my slingcatcher, no problem. Both are here with me, miles away from the local LAN connection the slingbox is hooked up to.
