Slingbox HD PRo

It was working flawlessly for over a year and all of a sudden this week I get this error. Reset router, tried different computers, tried my iPhone (no firewall/AV), changed cables/ports. The network light is on in front of the slingbox but it gets stuck at 'Connecting' then errors out. I've reset the Slingbox and still no go. I can't use the assistant because it doesn't see the slingbox.

Help?

Thanks

Can you ping the box? If so its connected but for some reason the Sling Player program does not connect. Have you tried it on Sling.com or tried to set it up at beta.slingbox.com?

  • When asking for setup help please include whether you are using a PC or Mac and
  • if you are using the Standalone Slingplayer or the web based setup program.

I am having the same issue as well. I tried doing a hard reset (hold reset button down for 10 seconds) but still get the same error.

When looking at the slingbox, I don't see the network connection light as on.

    Pings time out.

Hey same thing here...was out of town, something happened on or about August 8 2009. Still can't use my slingbox. Tried everything including re-installing software. error message 0x92360162 is a killer

Yep I'm getting this too, it was working fine and I got a new router, powered on my Slingbox to check it's settings but obviously I couldn't connect to it as new router = new IP address and the hard coded one in the slingbox isn't accessible so I had to reset it by holding the power button down for 5 secs.

So after this I could connect to it using the software, then part of the set up process was to update the slingbox which it then did. After a lot of waiting during 'restarting slingbox' it finally said it couldn't connect and that I should power it off for 5 seconds and plug it back in.

This is where the problem happens, the power light came on but no network light.

Now after leaving it for a while I'm getting a constantly flashing network light and the slingplayer software has given me the 0x92360162 error.

Basically the update bricked my Slingbox.

I've just figured this out, it was my router. In my router settings I had set it so that the slingbox is given a static IP each time via DHCP, once I had removed this it magically started working again. BTW my router is D-Link one provided by Virgin Media for their 50Mb service (UK). I had upgraded to this 50Mb service the same day which is why I originally started messing about with it.

Now instead of using DHCP, my slingbox is just manually configured with an IP which it did itself during the setup process (after a reset to factory defaults)

I actually resolved my issue be trying another hard reset of the Slingbox. Since then it has been working (this was the second reset, first time did nothing). My only issue now is colors are starting to look inaccurate, but I have yet to troubleshoot it.

    Slingbox Pro

I have two Pro's, one resides in TW which I was able to connect for the last 8 months or so, but all of sudden I have been receiving the 0x92360162 error code ever since last week :( I have another Pro here in the states which I have been using for over 2 years and still working fine today (knock on wood).

What in the "beep"in' is that error code? I can't ping my box. I don't see it on the network. But both status light is solid on the Pro box. What in the "beep" is a man supposed to do???

    BUMP!

Everyone ... there's a similar thread in Solo, as I had this error on my Solo and was resolved with a new power supply. See below:

    Hope this helps.

I am also struggling with this mess, it seems when a new router replaces an existing one, Slingbox no longer works, which makes little sense. Any suggestions? Will Slingbox actually do anything about it?

    September 20, 2009 4:45 PM

Same error. Recently added a new router to the setup. Have to wonder if that's the problem.

    September 20, 2009 5:24 PM

Well yes if you get a new router then you'll most likely be on a different network ID than before eg. I used to be 192.168.1.0 but now it's 192.168.0.0 so it can get confused and need a full reset.

I own a Solo and a Pro. They have worked flawlessly. I have done NOTHING to the network at home. Until 10/8/2009 I was able to access them from a Sprint MiFi network into a Nextel Blackberry, a Sprint Palm Treo 755P, several Sony VAIO computers that I own both at home on the network and mobile in my car on the Sprint MiFi. I traveled into Colorado and Texas from home in the last two weeks and watched my DirecTV using them virtually the whole time I was out of town using the MiFi card.
I can now access neither one of them and I get the error Error: 0x92360162
Context: 20 Operation:110 with the Solo and Error: 0x8007274c Context: 1 Operation:110 with the Pro.
Obviously something has taken place to kill the access to these units outside of any activity that I have done to the best of my knowledge. Looks like WE all have a problem.

    Same thing. Error: 0x92360162
out of no where started 4 weeks ago and have not been able to get ot to work since

    0x92360162

IMO this error is the fact the slingbox is not able to be found based on the most recent info the slingfinder has.

I can get this error by unpluging my slingbox from the network. Reading the logs it tries to find the sling locally then it uses the slingid ip address and port.

IMO its not on the local network because there is a different error if it is yet not able to connect remotely

So for you to fix this you need to ensure a local connection first.

    October 18, 2009 9:42 AM

Same old problem for me too.
    Error: 0x92360162
    Context: 20
    Operation:110

Why isn't there any help from slingbox on this? It is obviously happening all too often. Is there any eay answer to help sort this out? Not very easy to do when 1000 miles from the slingbox.
