The s/a explorer 8300hd automatically disables the other outputs when you use the hdmi output. To test this just unplug the hdmi cable from the explorer box and you video should appear. There is a published article on a work around for this issue.
I have a SlingBox Pro HD hooked up to a Sharp Aquos 1080 HDTV. I use it with a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD box. Cable provider is Cablevision.
When using the SlingBox on my HOME NETWORK, if I have my TV set up to watch TV via any HDMI input the SlingBox gives me NO video. I do get audio. If I switch my TV, so that the input used to view it is via the coaxial cable input, I do get video.
When using the SlingPlayer outside of my home I get no video at all. Doesn't matter if the TV is viewed via the HDMI inputs or the coaxial cable input.
I only started having this issue 2 weeks ago when I upgraded my TV to an HDTV. Prior to that, with my old TV, I had no video issues. The same cable box, which is an HD box, was used with my old TV and my current TV.
Okay and the link for the "published article on a work around for this issue" is WHERE???
Here is a good link from SM on this. Although it does not specify the 8300HD specifically it talks about how other outputs are disabled or don't work correctly.
