Hi all,

I've just joined the Slingbox Community and am really pleased with my Slingbox PRO. I have a number of satellite receivers hooked to it, including a Captiveworks CW600S. The only CaptiveWorks file that I can find is for the CW600 Premium. It is written that the remotes for these two receivers are incompatible. And to top it off, the file is in text mode. I believe the remote setup program is looking for a binary file. So I'm looking fo a bin that contains the following basic functions in addition to standard numeric entry:

1. Menu

2. SAT

3. Recall

4. EPG

5. Exit

6. Audio-Video toggle

7. Pause

6. info

7. F1

8. F2

9. F3

10. Page UP/DN

11. Volume

Can anyone help me find a bin with these functions to the Universal Remote or help me program using JP1?

Thanks much,

Carl G.

Hi again,
I found that Code 11 will control the basic functions. What is the procedure for adding other functions to the Slingbox remote wand? Do you need lots of programming skills? Let me know.
Thanks,
Carl

Still no replies here. I found a text file for the CW600S. It is CW600S_FTA_sat_rcvr.txt. It loaded in Remote Master as a KeyMapMaster device upgrade file, and it had all the remote's functions identified with their code number. I then put them on the virtual remote in logical places and saved my changes as a binary file by using the Export to binary procedure. I saved it as S1600_JU.bin, and put it in my Sling Player SBAV folder.
That was easy, I thought. I brought up SlingPlayer, went into the Audio/Video Setup, selected "Other (not in the list)" and entered S1600 in the alternative code box. The error message came back "The Slingbox cannot load the IR code you selected". So here's the 64 dollar question - what did I do wrong? any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

You probably need to create a PL not a JU bin file. Can't remember the technique right now cause traveling and not using my normal machine with my Sling stuff on it.
But if you can't figure out how to do it, I can get the procedures when I get back home.

Thanks for the help, Brandon. I created the JU bin file because I have an older Slingbox with a version 2.0 IR blaster. I'll rename it with the PL extension as you suggest. If that doesn't work, then I'm stumped again. either way, I'll let you know.

Hi again.
Renaming the file S0600_PL.bin did the trick! The only missing major function is Menu. The code for it is 14, and I put it on the Menu button, using Remote Master. But when I load Slingbox, it does not show the same remote, and clicking on the Menu button does nothing. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
In the meantime, I'll post my bin file here.
Cheers.

The only thing I can think of is that the code for Menu (14) is incorrect. I'd hate to try all unused numbers between 1 and 255! Maybe the one for the CW600 Premium is it.

Wish I had one I could help you with but don't. Maybe the CW600 Premium will do it, if not I wouldn't have any idea. Sorry.

No problem. I'll play with some numbers and let you know here if I'm successful.
