Other folks like you have worked hard to create these, so why not share yours? In a few simple steps, you can present your work to the largest populations of Slingbox owners. To submit your remote file for download on the SlingCommunity pages: Step 1: Create your free SlingCommunity user account To submit your remote file, you'll need to create a free Slingcommunity user account . Setting up your account only takes a minute. Step 2: Visit the Control Junkies group and submit your add-in Once you've verified and activated your free community account, log in and go to the Control Junkies Group . Step 3: Compress your remote file into a ZIP file. You cannot upload a raw BIN file to the community. You will need to compres it into a ZIP file. If you are not sure how to do this read the information here .
SlingPlayer Mobile Hack - Ask if You Want to Start in Landscape or Portrait Mode

Basically, when I start SlingPlayer, it asks a question, rotates the screen, starts SlingPlayer, then rotates back upon exit (if I tell it to turn). To do this hack, you need mortscript - available here . Here's the script that will do the dirty work: Switch (question ( "Rotate screen for Slingmobile?", "SlingMobile Launcher", "YesNoCancel" )) case (1) Rotate(90) Runwait( "\Program Files\Sling Media\SlingPlayer Mobile\SlingPlayer.exe" ) Rotate(0) case (0) Run( "\Program Files\Sling Media\SlingPlayer Mobile\SlingPlayer.exe" ) case (2) EndSwitch To use this script, install mortscript, then cut/paste the above script (starting with the line 'Switch' and ending with 'EndSwitch') into a text file named 'SlingplayerLauncher.mscr and launch it using your favorite launcher (I'm actually launching this from SPB Mobile Shell 2.0, as an added item under multimedia). Upon starting it, it'll prompt you and ask if you want to rotate your screen.. yes/no/cancel. If you say yes, it'll rotate/run slingplayer/then un-rotate... Hope this helps someone.. Original script is from xda (and meant for tomtom..)

I’m an uber-geek. I have 4 Slingboxes, 4 Macs, 3 PCs, Gigabit ethernet, DVRs, media players, and more gadgets in my car than most people do in their homes. With cell phones, GPS, amateur radio and EVDO data, I have completely run out of power outlets in my car and that is after adding 3 additional outlets! What’s worse, I watch TV while driving. OK, fess up - how many of you also do that? Be honest. In fact, the whole idea of being able to use the Slingbox with a handheld viewer is what motivated me to get a Slingbox in the first place. I had always noticed the Slingboxes after they first came out, but never purchased one because, as a Mac guy, there was not a client available for me to use. Then I saw a TV advertisement for SlingPlayer Mobile and I knew I had to get a Slingbox and a Windows Mobile device. The Slingbox came first and, thanks to Parallels, I was able to view it on my Mac long before the Mac version existed. Then I convinced my boss to upgrade to a Motorola Q and give me his Treo700W. I’ve...

This article provides step by step instructions for how to upload pictures from your computer directly into your community contributions. It also shows how to add YouTube videos that can be viewed directly in your contributions. How to Upload Pictures Directly into Posts and Articles Most community members know that they can add photo links when editing their forum posts and articles. This is done by pasting a photo's internet URL address into the Insert/edit Image dialog. What many contributors do not know is that you can upload pictures directly from your computer and have them appear in community contributions. That means you do not have to use a photo hosting service to share your pictures with the community. Here is how it is done. First, in the post edit area, click on the Tree icon to get the Image Insert/edit dialog. Note that there is a Browse icon to your right of the Image URL field. When you click on that Browse Icon, you will get the Image Upload dialog. Note that I already have a previously uploaded picture in the screen capture of the dialog. Once you upload a picture, it is associated with the thread, blog, or...

2008 Consumer Electronics Show - Enoch Live! Presentation

If you've never been to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, it may be hard to paint a picture on how much of a spectacle it really is. Every year, the larger companies erect gigantic booths chock full of video screens, booth babes, products, prizes, and other things to grab the attention of show goers. Every year since their first CES, Sling Media's booth has gotten bigger and more elaborate. A few years ago, they added a small stage and presentation to add a little pizzazz to the booth and capture the attention of press, buyers, retailers, and anyone else that would hear their gospel. Even though the stage continues to get bigger and more products get added to the pitch, there's always one consistency... Enoch Augustus Scott. Since CES 2006, Enoch has been the preacher of Sling, delivering the Slingbox presentation to CES attendees dozens of times each day of the show. His enthusiasm and wit adds a spark of excitement that always draws a massive crowd of onlookers. To put it simply, even if you didn't know what a Slingbox was when you started, you'll walk away knowing that it's something you have to have. Enoch is...
