Good evening, It is with many many mixed emotions that I write this blog entry. In a nutshell, I am leaving Sling Media, and so as not to re-re-repeat why, here's a link to my personal blog posting on the subject. Suffice it to say I'm leaving on excellent terms, and wish nothing but the best to the company. And don't you all fret, someone will be stepping in soon to fill these shoes. Now I am a size 11, so that may actually be hard to do. :) Seriously though, I am going to miss being the "voice of Slingbox" here on SlingCommunity. I had some good times, and dealt through some rough times (cough, encryption, cough) as well. It was a great learning experience for me, and I'm really hoping we (this we is myself, Sling Media, and you) helped set a good tone to other companies on engaging directly with consumers. In NYC next week

Hi, A couple of us will be in New York City next week attending the DigitalLife trade show (free tickets - read more here ). I've managed to meet up with Slingers in Vegas, LA, and the Bay Area, but never in NY. So we're going to have a 'grab a drink with JT' one night, but I'm not 100% sure which night yet! Looking like Tuesday or Thursday. Expanding the family

Well... by now you probably know we've added three brand new members to the Slingbox family. No? Missed it? Read this to get started.... Just wanted to drop a quick note saying how excited we are at the company to have the new products, and for those wondering about them, give the "really quick" descriptions of each unit, and talk about their purpose in life. Slingbox Tuner This Slingbox has a built-in analog cable/antenna tuner, and is not capable of connecting to an external device (like a set-top box). It is designed as a very easy to install/setup Slingbox, especially for cable modem households. All you need to do is unplug the coax from the cable modem, add a splitter (provided in the box), and insert the Slingbox Tuner into the mix. The Slingbox Tuner is targetting households who are interested in placeshifting their basic channels, and want a really easy experience. Read Matt's review here for more details. Introducing Sharon, aka My Little Buddy

At long, long last, I've finally found the right person to join the team and take on the arduous tasks of managing our beta programs. Sharon has spent the better part of the past 7 years managing beta programs for companies such as Palm, Cisco, T-Mobile, Roxio and HP. She’s actually been consulting for these companies, and we’re lucky to have lured her away from the consulting lifestyle into full-time fun here at Sling Media. Suffice it to say she has the skills and experience to take charge of our beta programs and raise them to the level we all want to see! I'm introducing her here as you'll probably "see her around" the forums. She's really interested in learning from you all as to what we do right and what we could/should do better in the future, so expect to see her open up some surveys and discussions! SlingPlayer OSX beta behind schedule

Hi there, y'all. I'm really sorry for taking this long to get an update out, I meant to do it last week but ended up in Hong Kong. Not a good excuse, I know, but with the combination of the travel, still trying to hire a great beta program manager, and actually running the existing beta programs, suffice it to say - I'm a wee bit swamped. I wish I had better news, I wish we were in public beta already. But we aren't yet. We are taking a lot of feedback from the first wave of the group and trying to incorporate as many fixes and suggestions as we can. We are moving as fast as we can, and many people in this team were coding away this past weekend. The good part is, as we start getting closer, things do tend to accelerate. I am not exact sure on the date for the public beta at present, but the moment I have something I can share with you, I will do it.
