SLINGBOX NOT FOUND NET BRAZIL

Hi all, I need some help. My Slingbox was working fine using Brasil telecom ASDL internet and TVA cable connected straight in the slinbox. We decided to change the Internet/TV provider to NET which has its own TV box and internet modem. The wizard configuration does not recognize my slingbox anymore. Its says Slingbox not found. Some actions already done: 1) I reset my slingbox using that little button at the back (for 30 seg and all lights flashed ok). 2) Switch everything off and on again. 3) Interesting: If I connect my Slingbox straight on my PC, the wizard does find it! But I am unable to save the settings, of course I am not connected to any router or internet. 4) I am using this modem: Motorola SBV5121 VoIP. The config for this modem is pretty poor, there is nothing to change excluding Enable DHCP, Reset to factory settings and Reboot the modem. 5) I am using a switch called D-Link DES-1008D which is not a router - the router role was been done by my old DSL DI-504... If my modem motorola has no options to set up an IP range and open ports, I should presume...

Slingbox/Sky BB Help Please!

Recently switched to Sky BB - using an airport extreme attached to the Sky BB modem as a bridge for all my bits and bobs. All works ok, except for the slingbox, which cannot connect. As the Extreme is acting as a bridge, there is no 'port forwarding' option (but this was on when previously set up using Pipex, with the extreme as a normal router). I have switched port forwarding on 5001 on, on the Sky router (Sagem) settings, but to no avail - I get a 'can't connect' error. Can anyone help please? Away on Saturday and need it for the next week or two. Many thanks. Stan

Setup and hub - Please help

I have problems connecting to my slingbox via my netgear hub. My setup is a cable modem-Netgear WNR834B router - Netgear DS108 Hub - slingbox The PC connected to the hub has full connectivity to internet and gets an ip 192.168.1.7 and all works well. When I plug in the slingbox to any of the hub ports no light goes on and the slingbox does not see any connectivity as well (no light on front network led) When i plug in the slingbox directly to the router (which is in the room below) it gets recognized just fine ! My router sees the device as well as any slingplayer on my PC's. The router sees the device and reports IP of 192.168.1.237. When I move the box back upstairs to the hub (using known working port and good cable) no light on the port or any further connectivity to network. I have tried the same cable that is connecting my PC from the hub and same issue. Hub has an uplink switch and either on/off no difference. PC works fine wheather the hub's up-link is on or off. Anybody have any idea please as to why I can't connect via...

Slingbox not able to be found

Hello Not sure if this should be in the remote viewing forum or the slingbox classic one^, but here goes: So, I bought a slingbox classic when I was in the UK last week and set it up at my mum's. Worked fine locally, then I went off and checked it worked remotely at a mate's house. it did. Back in the US this week and it's not working. Spoke to slingmedia support. They determined that the IP address at my mum's had changed (speculated the router had been disconnected). They remotely configured the box to have a static IP address and assured me a) that it was working (they could view it remotely) and b) that the problem should not recur since they had set a static IP. I couldn't see it, as I was at work and (they speculated) my firewall was blocking. So I get home tonight and get same errors. I call slingmedia, they tell me that they can't find it using the finder ID again. Or the new static IP address. I'll have to get them in touch with my mum again. Only it's 2am in UK now! So I wait until tomorrow. Any insights...

since upgrading firmware had problems.

I have 2 boxes, one is working ok, on the other the video will be off. The picture will split in the middle or go quad, so the bottom half of the video is on the top, and the top half is on the bottem or the left and right are split. This happens if I am watching remotely or at home. Any ideas, I have to stop the stream and restart to fix the video. It will last anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes. Very annoying! Thanks for any help in this matter

Slingbox Classic through a 5 port switch

My home network is set up as follows: FIOS router connected to 16 port hub in basement. Ethernet jack in family room (ultimately connected to the 16 port hub in basement). 5 port-switch in family room plugged into ethernet jack. Xbox, Tivo, and slingbox plugged into 5 port switch. If I connect the slingbox directly to the ethernet wall jack in family room, it works fine. If I connect through the 5 port switch, I can not get the internet light on the slingbox to light up and can not get connectivity. Can someone please tell me how to connect through the 5-port switch? Thanks.
