Slingplayer too slow - why?

My slingplayer is running at a pathetic 60 kbps when hardwired to my new ISP connection which runs, consistently, at 5 MB download and 400 kbps to 1.5 MB upload. Why? It's a mystery to me...especially since I can access a neighbor's wireless signal that downloads at only 512 kbps and the slingplayer runs at a steady 210 kbps every time with that connection... This is baffling. I've contacted Sling support twice in the last 24 hours and they don't know how to explain it or what to do about it, either. I upgraded to slingplayer 2.0 a month ago. Sling support did finally suggest, out of desperation, to go back to version 1.5. I did that, and exactly the same thing happens, so it doesn't have anything to do with the version of the slingplayer. Can I fix this by manually changing bit rate and some of those settings? This is soooooooooooooo frustrating... Please, somebody, HELP! Mike in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Bad Stream? Locks after a couple of seconds?

Mine did... Don't blame the Slingplayer, blame bad advise or your tinkering self. No, don't have a go at me, I was just in that position. I have a Slingplayer Classic in UK and reside in the UAE. Everything was fine until the last update and my Sling died. Seems Sling optimiser expects good ADSL settings... It is simply down to bad info setting up the ADSL modems at each end. Ports were OK, but I had messed with the MTU of both ends at different times. Just set an MTU of 1454 on my PPoA ADSL connections at both ends and WOW!!! back to perfect streaming.. 1454 is optimised encap for PPoA and should work for PPoE even with overhead taken into account. I know this will not solve EVERY problem but I hope it helps some.. Farsquidge.

With so many Slingers concerned about what Sling Accounts are for, I thought it high time to take some of these concerns to the source to finally get the facts and debunk the myths.</p>

I'm using slingplayer 1.5 and I like it. No problems nothing. I do not want to upgrade to slingplayer 2.0 but everytime I start my slingplayer, the prompt to upgrade to 2.0 appears. I even deleted the .bin file for th eprompt but it always comes back. Any other way to remove that annoying prompt?

Cannot get virtual remote to operate my Xbox360

Hi folks, I am stumped... I have a slingbox PRO and the IR blaster cable is setup and verified as working (via camera lcd check) and I have verified that xbox system console remote setting is set to ALL CHANNELS in the console, and I have tried selecting as the video source DVD/RCA, DVD/XBOX---&gt;DVD and DVD/Microsoft--------&gt;xbox 360 as devices attached. I even tried OTHER/OTHER and clicked on every custom code it had listed (89 of them) My problem is that when I put a DVD into the xbox and it starts playing (and I can see it on my PC slingplayer just fine) I cannot get the virtual remote to control anything ie: pause, stop, ffw etc. I had tech support log in to my PC and look around and they just gave up after trying everything I already did. ( they tried to tell me the xbox 360 requires a special IR adapter - I know that is true on the Xbox (old style) but my xbox 360 works fine with my Microsoft XBOX 360 remote which is IR based) I am running the latest versions of the widows player, and it also upgraded (flashed) my slingbox Pro when...
