New builds are available for both SlingPlayer for PC and SlingPlayer for Mac, taking each iteration up a minor tick. Based on what we've gathered, Sling's not adding the world here. SlingPlayer for PC 2.0.4 and SlingPlayer for Mac 1.0.10 appear mostly to be a maintenance upgrade intended to squash a few bugs in the player and firmware, update the remote control base for Macs, and fix some connectivity problems. The PC player, however, has gotten a few extra goodies that are worth mentioning. For starters, users of specific netbooks (namely certain hardware revs of Dell's Mini 10 for now, like the Dell Mini 1010) may be able to take advantage of a new hardware acceleration feature in the menu. If the option's grayed out, your netbook isn't currently supported, but those who can use it should enjoy improved performance when running SlingPlayer. From the looks of things, this is only the beginning, and may be extended to more netbooks and computers over time. Next is...

Hello, I am a new member to this forum and I would like to know if is safe to remove the Slingbox player version 1.05.0.0322 from add/remove programs. I also have the latest version 2.0.0.0465 installed on my Windows PC XP. By deleting the older version will this cause any problems with the newer version? Thanks for any support you may have for me.
HDMI from laptop - TV

Hi, I have a slingbox pro i am using, and watching on a Sony Vaio. The laptop has an HDMI output. I want to watch the sligbox from my laptop via the HDMI on my TV. I can connect and get a good pic - however no sound comes from tv, only video. To confuse matters, all the 'pc basic sounds' like new mail beep comes out the T.V :-s. Anyone got any ideas ? or had similar problems ?? I should explain that my slingbox is in the uk, whilst i live in the UAE - so this is the only way to watch TV, so wanted to watch it on the larger screen. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

How do I?

Hi, I have a remote device being controlled by slingbox. I'm using the slingPlayer 1.5 release and i want to be able to restart the remote device using the slingPlayer if possible. The remote device is able to restart if: 1) I unplug the power cable and plug it again 2) If i press the power button for 5 seconds directly in the device I have tried pressing the power button on the SlingPlayer but is not the same effect, the effect is the same than if i press the power button on the remote control of the device just for 1 second, it goes to Stand-by. Any input on that, please? Thanks.

Left and right edges of picture being cut off

Recently, my SlingPlayer stopped displaying 16:9 programs properly. I don't know what I've done, but now - no matter what I set the view to (e.g. "Widescreen", "Letterbox") - it's cropping out the far left and right sides of the picture. For example, I used to see Saturday Night Live in its proper ratio, with black space above and below the picture, but now I just get a cropped view, with the image taking up all of the SlingPlayer display. Any help here would be greatly appreciated! P.S. I'm still using 1.4.0.206.
