SlingPlayer won't work on Nokia 5800

Seems the nokia 5800 is the first touch phone on symbian mobile, anyway I install successful and it can execute. But the problem is when I add the slingbox directory. i don't know is it the nokia 5800 is it haven't any hardware "direction key". I can not click the "down" key to choice the radio button to select the slingbox ID / IP address. Therefore, due to the slingbox directory can not add , the slingplayer can not steam the video through our home's slingbox. Does anybody have a workaround solution that I can add the directory?Because the Java Application in 5800 have a virtual keypad but the slingplayer haven't!

I can t terminate another user connection via SlingPlayer Mobile for Symbian S60

Is there any way to terminate another user connection via SlingPlayer Mobile for Symbian S60 1.01? When I try to connect to my slingbox through my SlingPlayer Mobile for Symbian S60 1.01 (via n95-3) and another user is using it, I don't have an option to terminate that connection using the admin password. This option is included in the slingplayer desktop for windows 2.0... and is also included in slingplayer mobile for pocket pc (I read that here: support.slingmedia.com/get/KB-005114.pdf , page 16). With SlingPlayer Mobile for Symbian S60 I only get the following message (even if I m logged with the admin password): "Another authorized user is watching this slingbox. Please try again later" Any ideas? may be in the next version?

Slingplayer on Nokia N79 - Network issues?

I doubt whether there are many owners of the N79 also trying out Slingplayer but here are my findings so far in the UK on T Mobile web'n walk. Functionality so far appears fine when using 3G web'n walk connection Functionality so far appears fine when using a 3rd party wifi point to connect back to my Slingbox using either Slingbox Finder ID or the IP address:5001 option. The problem is that I get no connection through to the Slingbox when I try to connect to either of my wifi Access Points on my local network, even though. . . - Phone can access web via either AP - Phone can connect to either AP's internal web browser to check settings etc. In other words it can connect to a LAN device. - Firewall appears correctly setup as Slingbox can be accessed via 3rd party wifi AP as well as 3G data connection. Slingmedia were happy to log a call given that it is close to full functionality and also not on the list of supported phones! Anyone any ideas what I can try to resolve the local LAN issue?

The result being the exploding demand for value added services meaning more demand for us. While we are well placed and the future seems bright, isn’t it time for us to help the poor leverage the mobile (now almost everybody has a mobile or access to it) to their benefits by developing mobile applications which can somehow make their life better. May be by creating a mobile application which helps the rural populace to check the cleanliness of the water through their mobile. Or may be by creating an application through which a mobile phone will alert a farmer of the best time to bring his products to the market. Or may be by creating a mobile application which will help blind people understand the content of a document by converting it into audible text....

Slingplayer Mobile - E90, E71 & N82 (wifi doesn't work)

Ok, so I realize there isn't support for the E71. Got it (but how confusing...anyhow) I also have an N82 and E90. Now the Slingplayer Mobile is officially supported on the N82, but after the most recent firmware update, I cannot connect via WiFi. This is particularly annoying because the N82 and E90 only have EDGE capabilities in the USA, leaving WiFi as the only realistic viewing option. I have tried hard resets, reformats, reinstalls, etc, and I cannot for the life of me get it to connect via WiFi on the latest firmware (v.30). On a related, but "unsupported" note, I am having the same issues with my E90. Being an EDGE only device in the USA, it *does* work over EDGE, but my god it's choppy as heck. So I try to use it in my home over WiFi. No dice. Hangs on "connecting" just like my N82 does. So neither the N82 or E90 work on WiFi. The E71 appears to be a lost cause. I'm thrilled to have $1800 worth of phones and none are usable with Slingplayer Mobile. Anyone from Sling care to lend some advice here? I'm puzzled as to why WiFi doesn't work....

Sling Mobile Keeps Crashing My Slingbox!! Please Help

Hi I have an N95 8GB. I am running the latest version of Sling Mobile on the 3 Network (Not using the 3 version). I can connect for a few minutes, but then I lose connection. When I get home the red N is flashing on the box and the LAN light is off. I have to unplug the box and the network cable and leave it for a few minutes then plug it all back in. As you can imagine this is annoying when you are away for a few days. The strange thing is this does not happen when I use Sling via the laptop. It works fine. Has anyone else experienced this? If so a solution would be great if there is one. Or is my box broken. I hope not as its just out of warranty Thanks

Forget Android, Nokia comes calling

Yeah, Android is quite wonderful but it kind of restricts the creativity of the developers because of technical limitations. Not Nokia, it invites all mobile application developers to develop any application in any vertical and using any technology in its ‘calling all innovators’ challenge. The only requirement is that it should be an application which either helps the society, or helps the environment, or tests the cutting edge of the mobile applications . A rather vast canvas, don’t you guys agree? Enough to let your creative juices flow , right ? What’s more the winners will get their applications distributed by Nokia and win a substantial cash award. They will also get a chance to meet VCs and Mobile Operators in Barcelona Mobile World Congress, 2009. Oh yes, if any of us want to send in their innovations, we’d better hurry with the testing and QA. T he last date of submission is December 15, 2008 which is just about a month and a half away . All the information is available on http://www.callingallinnovators.com/home.asp
