Hello, I have the Pro HD 300 and Comcast cable with the Motorola DVR box. Is there a way for someone to be watching the Slingbox away from home without interrupting what somebody at home is watching? Thanks for the help!

Newbie - advice please!

Hi I'm looking at buying a SB Pro-HD from the US (internet purchase). I live in the UK. Anything I should be worried about? I'm most concerned about the power supply/plug (does the SB use a separate 'kettle lead' which could be replaced with a UK-spec one; and is it switchable between 110 and 240V (US and UK spec)? I've also read something about 50Hz v 60Hz - not sure what this means... ! Also, is NTSC v PAL an issue at all? The SB will be used with a Sky+ HD box and a Panasonic Viera LCD. I'm looking to get a SC further down the line too. Thanks in advance - any help much appreciated. 916ian

Manually Add/Remove Channels

Hi All, Let me start off by saying that I bought the Pro-HD for its built in tuner, not for its HDness. I was curious one day and rescanned for available channels to see if I could get the free HD channels that are offered as part of the DTV transition. In addition to the 70 stations I was already receiving, I now have 400 more stations! Ordinarily more is better, not in this case. Only 7 of those new stations are actually useful (I don't even watch them) and the rest just seem to get in the way. To get from 30 to 31 I need to go through 30.1, 30.2, 30.3 and 30.4, ugh! Is it possible to manually add/remove channels with the Slingbox Pro-HD? OR is there a way to scan for stations and only pickup the non digital ones. I'm willing to give up the HD stations as they don't stream as well as the non-HD stations when bandwidth is low on the receiving end and that is normally the case. Any help is appreciated, Thanks, Jared

Sling.com player change encoding settings?

Hi, I have a Pro-HD that works fine with the Windows Slingplayer--but only if I manually change the encoding settings for higher bitrates that enable me to see HD. I'd like to watch streams on my Mac, but I understand the Mac Slingplayer doesn't support HD. So I'm stuck with the Sling.com player on Mac. Only problem: I can't figure out how to change the encoding settings like I do in Win Slingplayer on the Sling.com player. Thus the Sling.com player always uses the default settings (which never get above 1.8 Mbps while manually I get 3.5 or so). Any thoughts? Thanks!

Cannot access Comcast On-Demand

Hi there, just hooked up my Slingbox Pro-HD and it's working great, except that I can't access the OnDemand programs, which is a big reason I got it (I'm in Japan, rest of family is in San Francisco so I need to time switch or I only see stuff broadcast during the night). During SetUp, I had to load a generic remote, because the one at our house in SF wasn't listed. Do you think this is the problem? Also very hard to page up/page down, etc. Remote sort of sucks. We have Comcast and a General Instruments Box SFT 2 which wasn't listed, so we downloaded a similar one, but it is very generic. Thanks, any help is appreciated.

Is there a way to access files from the sling when a network attached storage drive(my book) is plugged into the slings usb slot from another computer on the LAN? I want to be able to add files to the network attached storage drive from any of my computers but be able to let the sling keep that hard drive so I can stream all my media from one location.

Access to Sling Pro HD after Firmware Update

Our Sling Pro HD was recently updated with the lateset firmware, accidently as nobody is currently in the location where the Sling Pro HD is located. Since the firmware update the unit is not accessible. I understand that the unit may have lost its username and password information after the firmware update. We do have a VPN set up between the remote site and actual Sling Pro HD site. Is there anything I can do through the VPN to access teh Sling Pro HD so I can check the configuration of the unit. The Sling Pro HD has a static IP address. Please advise. Jeffrey

Can't change Slingbox Pro HD resolution to "HD"

I have a Slingbox Pro HD and a slingcatcher. I have Comcast on the SB side and Verizon Fios on the catcher side with 25 up 15 download. When I go to change the resolution through the slingbox menu it only allows me to go up to 640X480 and not the "HD" option above it. The HD option says it needs at least 2 Mb upload but It says that I am streaming at 3000-4000 kbps so I am confused. Help
