SlingCatcher Overheating Problem Solved

Needless to say, I use my SlingCatcher constantly. After a few hours, it gets so hot that it reboots. The bottom of the SlingCatcher is almost untouchable at this point. I went to Best Buy and picked up a belkin laptop cooling pad, powered by USB. After 4 hours of watching Purdue Beat Michigan, the bottom of the Sling Catcher is cooler than my beer. Just an fyi...

Picture Freezing

I've noticed that when watching playback over both a SlingCatcher and via PC, from an ExpressVu DVR based in Canada, watching over a good high speed connection about 2,700 miles away, that the picture freezes fairly regularly. What's interesting is that it typically occurs during sporting events, and always during a replay. The picture freeze is "presignalled" by an audible "beep". If I rewind the DVR, the freeze will occur at the exact same time. Has anyone else experienced this? Any fixes? Thx

Slingbox Configuration Has Failed

I purchased the Slingbox Solo last year. It is AWESOME; however, 2 months ago, it started freezing on me. Last night after I did a hard reset it stated that it is an "Unconfigured Slingbox. You must set up your Slingbox before you can use it. Do you want to start the Slingbox Setup Assistant now?" Whenever I use the Slingbox Setup Assistant, at some point during the process, I receive the error message: "Slingbox configuration has failed. Unable to connect to the Slingbox. Please verify your Slingbox network and connection settings and try again." I have tried correcting the issue to no avail. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Catcher not reading files

Hi! Just today, my Catcher decided to not find all the files in my shared folders. I'd say that it's only picking up about 50% of the files. I would say that it is picking up about 10 gig of the 27 gig of data. Any ideas why it could be doing this? thanks!!

Manually increase my SlingCatcher's Bandwidth

Components: TiVO HD XL, Slingbox ProHD running with Verizon FiOS (5MB Upload speed) SlingCatcher hooked with HDMI cables to 54" plasma 1080p TV. Computer running SlingPlayer is running Vista, i7 920 Processer, 8MB RAM. 10MB download speed. The Problem: I am able to stream 3200 kbps on my computer by Manually setting it to 3200 (if I try to increase it, it gets choppy). When I stream on SlingCatcher it goes from 1600-2200 kbps. Is there any way to ensure I'm getting the most out of my available bandwidth on the SlingCatcher? I'm getting way better streams by setting it manually on the Player, but Catcher is less fun. Any ideas? Thanks! Robert

input cables

Apologies if this has been covered before. So I recently got the slingbox solo. From the pictures, I can see that the input options are 3 way RCA, s-video, and composite video. The problem is, my cable comes in from the wall to my tv in just a coaxial cable, with no box in between. Therefore, I am looking for something to either: 1. convert coaxial cable to rca 3way 2. convert coaxial cable to single rca, then that to 3 way rca 3. convert coaxial to rca audio and s-video Suggestions?

Slingbox Pro HD stopped working

My Slingbox Pro HD seems to be having problems. All of a suddent only the first half of the center lights are on while the rest are off. I tried reseting it by pressing the reset button for 5 seconds (and longer) and it doesn't seem to help. I've also tried unplugging the Slingbox from the power and waiting a bit. Anyone else have this problem?
