She previously had DirectTV, which you needed a receiver box for every room that there was a tv in. Now she has switched to Time Warner Cable and I believe that now there is only one box (the main dvr) and all the other rooms are hooked up directly to the tv without any kind of a box. I cannot hook up the slingbox to the main dvr because she always is watching/using it. Is there any way I can still use the slingbox anymore without hooking it up to the main tv with the dvr? Evreything works fine, except I'm not successful remote controlling the switchbox from my computer. I have the IR-cabe attached pointing at the IR-sensor. Unfortunately the switcher I'm using (StarTech.com SVID410IR) does not come up as "supported device" - does anybody know alternative codes for the unit? With my slingcatcher I'm able to watch programing from that country. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find remote that works with that receiver. There is 6 hours time differences between east coast and France.. Most of my favorite TV shows are broadcasted in France like 3 am to 6 am.. So, I would like to record them on Hauppauge 1212 HD-PVR or any DVD recorders with built in hard drive and to watch them in French prime time. But I wonder if I can schedule recording programs on these recording devices and play them remotely through slingbox and slingplay.. Or let me know the best way. Unfortunately this set-top box is not listed under Cable box so I chose the only Handan model available which is CV-3500. When I power off the set-top box, it will switch off and on again. When I change channels, it skips channel. It seems that the input is taken twice in succession. I would like someone to send me the correct config file so that I can properly control my set-top. I greatly appreciate if someone helps me with this. Also note that in Malta, all customers have this type of model (Handan VT-3100) so it would be helpful to other customerswho have the slingbox.
