All; I am experiencing a install problem on three different WinXP systems. The result seems to all be the same. If anyone has identified a more elegant solution, please share. This happens when upgrading from ver 1.4 or a clean install of 1.5. After the install is complete, whenever I right click on a desktop icon, the MSI installer for SAV launches (very annoying). The only workaround, I can find, and not sure it is comprehensive is to re-install SAV. My systems are basically as follows WinXP SP2 SAV 10.0.2.2000 Sygate Security Agent 4.1 b3607 WinXP SP2 SAV 10.0.2.2000 SCS 3.x brianb

All the other buttons do exactly what the corresponding butoon on my actual remote does....but the "OK" button does not which does not allow me to use my cable box's (Motorola DCP 501) Guide or On Demand features. Am I overlooking something simple?

hi! wondering if there are any new solutions for using a physical remote control to control the slingplayer at a remote location??...ie. slingbox in USA, slingplayer in Japan with laptop connected to my tv...wondering what the best solution is in terms of ir receiver/remote control which is easy to assign the slingplayer functions to...so that we can get a real pc-transparent "remote control" feel when we use our slingplayers remotely! Thanx!

Router let Sling traffic *out* but not *in*?

I have an SB Pro at home behind an ActionTec (Verizon FIOS) router. I set up remote viewing using the wizard (uPnP) and all works fine, I can view it just fine from my office and other places. However, my friend in England also has an SB. Now here's the wierd thing - I can watch his SB just fine from my office here but not from my house. I get "connected" then "starting stream" then "optimizing" but nothing after that - just a black screen. So my suspicion is something is not right on my home router - it seems to be allowing Sling traffic *out* but not *in*. Got any ideas? I'm happy to do a manual config on my router but could use some pointers. Thanks!

Good morning all. Let me first say that I just joined the community. I have attempted to find similar issues, and their solutions, among the already resolved problems with not much luck. Please accept my apologies in advance if my issue has already been discussed and resolved. Where this to be the case, a pointer to the appropriate thread will be greatly appreciated. I have encountered a quite singular problem that, needless to say, I'd like to resolve. I have installed a SlingBox Tuner in the EU and I am currently enjoying it from the US. The dedicated upload bandwidth available at the location where the SlingBox is installed is 640kbps. I have noticed that if my Sling Player is using a wireless connection (WIFI or HSPDA) I can enjoy a constant 540/550kbps stream. Conversely if I use a traditional land line (I have tried my Fios, T1s, Cable) I can only get between 300 and 330kbps. Bear in mind that all wireless Vs wired tests have been conducted while connected to the same internet uplink. I have tested the issue with the same results across internet connections, OSs (XP, Vista), computers. One other thing common to...

Vista, Frozen Video after User Access Control Prompt, SlingPlayer 1.5

When I get a UAC prompt (allow/deny dialog and the black background overlay) as Sling Player is running, my video freezes while my audio continues to stream. When I resize my SlingPlayer window, I can jolt the video back into streaming, but this is annoying. Has anyone else experienced this? I don't remember this happening with older versions of Sling Player. On my laptop, which doesn't have dedicated graphics, getting a UAC prompt while SlingPlayer is running actually stops the SlingPlayer from streaming altogether, and I need to restart the application.

I've turned off my firewall, so I don't think it's a Norton issue. Thanks

can slingbox stream music thats on a PC?

I am interested in buying a slingbox, but was wondering if it was possible to stream music from a PC onto another device, such as a smartphone that supposed slingplayer. I have a large collection of music on an external hard drive connected to my PC and it would be amazing if i could access all of it with my new smartphone through slingplayer. If this is not possible through the PC, is it possible through any other device, such as the apple TV or an xbox 360? I know the slingbox was made primarily for video, but it would be even more useful for me to be able to stream my music as well rather than just video. I cant imagine why it wouldnt support music, but i have not seen it mentioned anywhere on the forums.

1.5 Slingplayer Problems!!!

Is it just me, or did your Slingbox basically crash with the new 1.5 version of slingplayer? I'm hoping to document whether or not it was just mine, or everyone else's too. I actually downloaded it from the download link/site, rather than clicking yes when asked when you open the slingplayer app. I couldn't get my slingbox to register even though it was on my home network!!! I power cycled the slingbox...that did not work. I reset my slingbox back to factory default settings by holding down the reset button on the box...that did not work. I restarted my computer...that did not work. After about 2 hours of wasting my life away (of which I'll never get back), I downgraded to a previous version that I luckily still had the installer for on my computer. The only thing I didn't do was powercycle my router...however, after downgrading back to the original everything worked again like a charm. Please post your success or problems so I can know where to go from here. Thanks. P.S. Tried to connect with Sling Chat but waited a long time for a connection...I figured that they were bogged down with similar problems.
