I've being trying to Sling Digital Music channels.

I noticed that you can disable video on slingplayer, I thought what a great feature to free up bandwidth an improve sound quality on my digital music channels; for some reason this is making it worse. And because the channel is all black the bit rate automatically goes down and the sound still sounds bad, lastly I tried manually configuring the sound to 96kbs sounded the best but still sounded WORSE then normal channels also streaming video. Any suggestions?!

SlingCommuntiy is growing, and since Slingers are the ultimate TV lovers, we want to give a few special folks the chance to share their TV passions with others around the world. We've got a few specific blogging opportunities here at SlingCommunity and around our network. Who are we looking for? SlingCommunity Blog Opportunities Two directions here: TV Fanatics! TV Lovers! - We want one or more folks that absolutely love TV to blog about what they're watching. Give us your thought on last night's American Idol, tell us what you think of the latest episode of CSI. Give us your commentary on last nights game. I understand the world of TV is big, so I'm open to recruiting more than one to blog about television. TV News Person - Looking for a chance to blog about TV News. Will a favorite show be cancelled? Will ABC and NBC merge? Is a new show about to hit the air? Here's your chance to flex your reporting muscle on the television industry. Both opportunities have a strong chance of being syndicated around our network, having a section devoted to their blogs in several of our newsletters, and a whole lot more!
Slinging Your Land Line Phone Remotely?????

It would be cool to be able to make phone calls threw your Sling box when away from home. I sometimes go up in the moutain's to our cabin where we have no cell phone service and it's not worth getting a phone for the few weeks a year wile we are there. I wish there was a way that I could just Sling my home land line just to make a few quick calls when we need to. I know I could just get an internet phone but again it's just not worth it for a few weeks out of the year. (the neighbors up the hill have wireless internet they let us use wile we are there) Johnnnny

Video From My Observatory

I operate a small remote computer controlled astronmical observatory in my backyard. I can control the all the functions from anywhere that has a broadband connection. That includes the telescope, dome and CCD cameras. I recently installed a speciality astro-video camera which is connected to one of the telescopes. I also need to be able to view the feed from this camera remotely. The solution has a Slingbox AV. I can now view real-time video of the heavens from anywhere in the world. As I write this there is a live image of the Orion Nebula (M42) on my screen. This brings my Slingbox count to 3.
