Registration Swap?

Back in July 2007 I purchased a license for the SlingPlayer for Pocket PC software and was happy using it. Back in May this year my Pocket PC mobile was stolen and my company gave me a Nokia N95 as a replacement. I would now like to use the SlingPlayer for Symbian software on my N95 - is it possible to swap my old Pocket PC license for a new Symbian one, or at least a discount on the full price? cheers, Mike

Hi All, I was wondering whether anyone has tried SlingPlayer on the Nokia N81 at all? It's not on Sling's list of tested devices but I wondered if anyone had it up and running and could let me know if it works OK, please. Any advice gratefully received :-) Thanks! Samm

Currently I have a laptop and a MAC desktop running the Slingplayer software and via the Local network on wifi they run fine with no stuttering whatsoever. On my N95 however using the same Local network the connection stutters every 5-10 seconds and pauses before continuing. To see if it was an issue with the Wifi connection I connected using my 3G connection and it does the same thing. Anybody else having the same issue?

Hi all, I've had Slingplayer mobile V1.0 on my N95 8gb for ages, it works a charm. But yesterday I upgraded my phones firmware to the latest version (V20.0.016), it erases all my software, so I installed the latest Slingplayer and now it refuses to connect to my Slingbox, I've tried the finder and the IP address, no luck.. it just hangs on the "connecting" screen.. It must be the firmware that's killed it.. and I can't be alone can I? -Steve

I know the Nokia E71 isn't on the supported phone list for SlingPlayer but I though I'd try it out anyway. It works on the E90 after all. For anyone interested the application installs fine but then none of the menu items or dialog boxes can be seen so it's impossible to configure anything. Even if it was possible to set it up I can't guarantee you'd be able to see the video feed. If anyone from SlingMedia is reading this please add the E71 to the supported phones :) I'd be more than happy to beta test anything. The E71 is an amazingly good phone, the build quality is excellent and it's very fast for a S60 device.

I currently have a Nokia E61i with the latest and greatest firmware update v3... I have installed the slingplayer for Symbian S60 V3 and it installs fine. When you open the program it crashes though. I have found a way around this crash though. What I do is I open up slingplayer and wait until it crashes and then open up my web browser. Now, I hold the Menu key until all my open apps shows in the left hand of the screen and I choose the Slingplayer and now the Slingplayer is not crashed so I can move to the next step. You have to keep switching from web to the slingplayer in order to get all your information in the slingplayer settings. Yes, it takes a while. Everytime Slingplayer crashes just switch to the web and then for some reason Slingplayer is fine when you go back to it. I can get all the way until slingplayer says "starting using Access PT" then I think it crashes again right before it will start playing. I try to switch to the web browser and then back to slingplayer but it is back to the screen where youhave to go...

I have a Nokia N95. I have been having some issues since upgrading to the new sling for symbian. It seems to skip or stutter every 10 seconds. It is watchable but very annoying. Does anybody else have this problem? This happens with wifi as well as 3g. I didn't seem to have this problem with the old version of the player. anybody have any ideas? I have tried turning down the quality levels on the sound as well as picture quality for fullscreen and it still skips. It seems the more programs i have on the phone the more it is apt to skip. Is sling 1.0 still available?

All I have a NOKIA N73 and run my Slingbox through the internet using a Thomson tg585 v7 router. Although the Singbox is correctly connected via the router to my PC, I cannot watch it on my N73. I keep getting a message "Incorrect Slingbox Password. Please try again" and therefore cannot connect. I have spoken to the Sling helpdesk and they established that my phone is not the issue as it connects to the helpdesk slingbox meaning I can watch programmes they are watching on their slingbox on my Nokia N73. My singbox is set up correctly for remote viewing - they have tested this. I have the latest software on my phone. Additionally they disabled my anti-virus software in their testing if that helps to ensure it was not the problem. I would very much appreciate any help. I am not a technology person so do not know the ins and outs but am willing to follow instructions! I have been trying the 30 day free registration software but am down to the last 6 days as have been trying to go through the helpdesk to no avail. It has apparently been escalalted" but I have had no...

Stability on Symbian

Hi, I'm testing out the stability of SlingPlayer Symbian. I have an application where I need it to run reasonably stably for an hour or so - I'd probably tolerate a disconnect once every 10 or so goes, but at the moment I am getting a disconnect around every 15 minutes on a Home Wifi network. I am not sure what is causing it and if I can improve the stability - the issue is the movie freezes, sometimes the movie plays and the sound drops off. I'll be doing more testing the next few days. My questions are regarding what I can do to maximise the stability: 1) Is this a known issue? Or do other Symbia users get stable playback for the duration of a full movie? 2) When using Wifi, does the application check / rely on external internet connectivity or just the local wifi? I have the SlingBox Pro on the same LAN as the wifi router - but the external interent can be problematic at this location. 3) Can I expect stable play back while on 3.5g connection and walking around... will be testing later. 4) Should I upgrade the N95 8GB firmware (no PCs...
