Obviously, some design time was required, and the App Store was not even around yet, so I was patient. Is 256kbps upload speed suitable? If not, options to upgrade to cable are 5Mbps/384kbps, 10Mbps/1Mbps. Which is recommended? 2. Because Singapore is 12+ hr time difference from the US I will have to purchase a DVR. I've contacted Charter, the cable service provider and asked if their DVR (Motorola 6416 or 3416) is compatible with SlingBox and they never heard of SlingBox. I checked SlingBox list of compatible DVR's but could not find this exact model number. 3. Must I use the cable service providers DVR or can I use another manufactures compatible DVR? Any recommendations? The reason I ask this is, the cable company said in order for another DVR to be compatible with their digital cable service, their cable cards would have to be installed in the DVR.... It came up because i live in New Jersey but am a Miami Dolphins fan. I don't have people who live in that area that I can buy a slingbox for and I'd rather not pay for the NFL ticket if possible. So could Slingbox Personals be created on this site to find that fan in the maimi area who likes the Jets or Giants and based on some general rules (like don't touch the TV while the game is on) could I sling his Dolphins game and he sling my Jets game? I'm sure there are a lot of things that would need to be worked out, but this is exactly the kind of thing that makes sling so good and worth every penny. What are your thoughts, and is it technically doable? Unreal isn't it? As a response to this, we are going to be implementing new security protocols in the PM system. A system of checks and balances in a way (we're still hammering out the details). The goal is that we will automatically ban people that abuse the PM system. This may also mean that there may be certain criteria a new member has to meet before they can even send a PM to another user (if so, some of you may not be able to send PMs until that criteria is met). Again, still working out the details there, but I wanted to assure all of you that I will not tolerate spammers here at SlingCommunity.
