Some internal clean up promotes Highest playback settings. Have installed beta 2.0 on top of and cleanly after complete uninstall. Before installing various .net items I did not get the error but the player crashes immediately after it displays it cannot locate the slingbox. After installing various .net items and updating them all... I recieve a catastrophic error during the installation of the skins as the installshield app indicates the process. Slingbox is detected but immediate crashes with Beta 2.0 and no luck at all with debugging. Will attempt today the workaround noted in a seperate thread of renaming the particular file and reinstalling .net. and I'll post update. I am awaiting the arrival of my second slingbox. I just purchased a solo and I already own a classic. Looking forward to the fabled Vista optimized versions that were hinted to us last year. Would like to see more impressive bitrates for mobile devices. Update pending - but I'm seriously frustrated with the BETA... No *hand* grab to scroll guide up and down. As it stands it is a little hard to scroll with sidebars current size with a UMPC (using U810). - Dispay Mode -> Video Only....when double clicking out, if you re-click to minimize the video it never goes back to the windowed *video only*. One click would be nice instead of having scroll through the Display Mode -> Video Only menu each time. - how about search option for tv guide? I've got an xp pc that is HDMI/DVI wired to a sony tv as second monitor (ati radeon card - 16650 or some such??). When the Sony TV changes channel to or from the HDMI/DVI input, the computer monitor gives a quick flash to black - presumably something happening in the graphics card in response to the tv connection being connected / disconnected. It has always done this with no problems, whatever the pc was doing. However, I've just started running slingplayer on the PC and watching on TV. It works fine, except when I change channel on Sony tv - e.g. to check another channel. The usual black flash occurs, but this now crashes the computer if (and only if) slingplayer is running. The crash is complete - immediate hard reset. Any ideas? I have a new computer and would like to copy the directory from my old computer to the new one. One of the boxes I have in my directory, I can't remember the password to, can't find it, and unfortunately don't have physical access to the box. Anybody done this before? I have just finished installing a Slingbox Solo with a NESX (!) STB to get the French FTA Digital TV. Of course I have been unable to find relevant codes to get the slingbox to operate the STB. The closest I get to success is to select Satellite box, then other, and Code91 sort of works (in Fast mode), but instead of turning the STB on and off, it displays the teletext. In the slingplayer I can just about get a couple of channels and the guide, but not all the channels and certainly not the OK button. What can I do? I opened the STB, and the chipset is Cheertek CT212U-J1 and the DVB-T one is ZL 10352. The remote is produced by G.Star, and the code is JX-7011A (1). Does anyone know of any supported brands that use these? Google did not help much. Thanks in advance. I opened the program and when i go to the directory it recognizes i have a slingbox on my network and it is available, but when i click watch it asks me for a password. When I use my notebook computer, everything is good and crisp as the connection speed is about 500kbps. However, when I use my desktop the connection will start strong at about 350kpbs but quickly drop to 100kbps and the video and volume get choppy and low quality. This has happened with two desktop computers (an older one running windows xp and a brad new quad core media center running vista ultimate). My notebook is running vista ultimate. My note book is connected wirelessly to verizon DSL while my desktop is connected by ethernet cable. I connected my desktop using a wireless adaptor but still got poor quality. Why is slingbox connection only good on my notebook and so bad on two different desktop computers connected to the same internet connection? I tried turning Control Mode on but that made no difference. I read a post that someone had the same problem and so they tried putting on an older version of Slingplayer (1.4) and that solved it, I tried this but it did not help so I am wanting to put the 1.5 version back on. Everytime I try to upgrade it starts the upgrade (extracting slingplayer msi) but then just stops and nothing happens. 1.4 works on my computer and I can install and uninstall it no problems so why not 1.5?
