I just installed a slingbox av and it works fine within my home on both computers(one ethernet from router and one wireless) My setup is as follows- linksys wrt54g2 v1 wireless g router using WPA/WPA2 encryption. a playstation 3 connected wirelessly, a WII connected wirelessly, a 6 month old vista laptop connected wirelessly, a 8 year old Xp SP2 computer connected with ethernet to router. I used the setup wizard and even tried manually to setup my router (it was not listed in the drop-down menu for routers- so I chose the most likely one the wrt54g interface 2) and used the router tutorial and it still did not work. by the way I am on 768 DSL, but I am getting 6M cable internet tomorrow. any ideas?

Hello everyone. I have recently set up my slingbox solo and attached it to a Humax PVR 9200T. It took a while to set up along with 2 phone calls to the help desk but now seems to be working fine. I am taking it from the UK to the UAE so hopefully it will work. I will post my results of viewing in Abu Dhabi once I arrive there. Having read some of the posts on here it should work. 2 problems I have: I am suffering from the ''double click'' problem as listed elsewhere, I can't find if this has been fixed yet. Second problem and I cannot find any links on here or on the slingbox site is the remote that comes up on my computer screen does not have the same buttons as the one that comes with the PVR. During set up the slingbox allowed me to select the 9200T but no options seem to be available to change the remote control. I think I can get round the problem by using the custom buttons, as listed elsewhere. All this is compounded by the double click thing. Any help would be gratefully received, many thanks...

Hey guys, my slingplayer 2.0 was working fine but all of a sudden a couple of days ago my program guide stopped working. If you click on the guide button it shrinks the video just as if it were going to open the guide but it doesn't actually load the guide, instead there is just empty space where the guide normally is. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I don't understand why people are so angry around here? The poor guy that comes here and shares what little he can seems like a pinata! lol! I can't believe he still wastes his time on this forum. It doesn't matter if Sling doesn't come out with the slingcatcher until 5 years from now, you'll still buy it, and if you don't - I doubt they will miss your money anyway. Sling is one of the best products I've ever seen, and to read some of the responses on this forum to the products being released, and when they are being released, and the lack of knowledge they are getting....ARRRH!!! No wonder the United States is becoming dumber, our consumer base are a bunch of sheep. First of all, sling doesn't owe anybody anything. They started a business to make money, if that was with a product you liked, good for you, if not, so be it. The slingcatcher will be shipped when A, it's ready! and B, Sling feels it will be profitable. Along with all the other sling projects in the works, and the fact of the matter is, thats all the consumer needs to know. You don't...

Hi, I am trying to capture analog video from a wii and also a VCR onto my Mac and was wondering if Slingbox would be a viable method instead of using something like the Analog/Digital Video Converter, Canopus ADVC110, which connects directly to your computer using firewire (all my equipment is far away from my computer so firewire cables would not stretch). http://desktop.thomsongrassvalley.com/products/ADVC110/index.php Has anyone tried this method? I would like to know if the quality would be up to par with the footage captured thru the conventional firewire capture devices. Thanks.

Question: I've been slinging for a while now, I think it's great that I can live in a different country (Canada) while still getting my hometown local programming. My main reason for getting the sling box (9 months ago or so) was to have access to college football games that aren't broadcast over the major networks up here. As I watch the slingbox I'm getting a little worried that the picture is quite grainy in action settings, and I may end up watching a soccer game thinking it's a football game. Or worse, I may end up thinking my team is winning when I've really just been cheering for the wrong team the whole time because I can't tell the difference. Until now I've just chalked it up to being a bad picture because it's a new technology and in a few years I'd be able to "TV quality" picture over my slingbox, but it sounds like some people on this forum are getting pretty good pictures. So my question is, how? I have high-speed internet in my igloo up here so that would be my download speed right? Is my upload speed in the states also a factor? What...

Hi, I use a Melita Digital Box in Malta. The Box indicates that the make is Digian ( HSC - 1150NA ). I wasn't too sure of the make as it didn't come up with any results on google, so I opened the ir remote and found that it is HOF-47A-HD4ONA Ver: 1.1 (2006.03.06). All i know is that the code is NEC-IR. This is what the remote looks like http://www.xmhello.com/prod2.asp?ID=59 I have emailed them to ask for the codes, but have had response as yet. Any help as to how I can actually get to control my cable box through my virtual sling remote would be much appreciated as currently i have to manually change the chanel on the cable box. Thanks.

I'm a devoted Slingbox fan who is at the moment watching Olympic coverage on NBC. Bob Costas was interviewing Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh. Misty's husband is a catcher for the Florida Marlins who, because of their game schedule, was not able to be in Beijing for the Olympics. Apparently he was trying to get updates on the game from friends who were watching at home, and in the interview Misty says, "I don't know who got the SlingBox, but they ended up watching the game in the dugout on the manager's computer." Not a bad mention on live international television to 25 million viewers! Go SlingBox!

Hi all! several month ago I purchased a slingbox av as well as 2 transmitters since my cable is in on room and the tv is in another. I love that no matter where I am in house.yard, or even visiting my mom, that I can watch the content from my own cable network..I can even use/watch things on my DVR remotely. The thing I don't like, is if hubby is watching a dvd, I can't watch it with him, from another room or remotely. So what Im wondering, is there a way to get a splitter or something that I can connect to my slingbox so that I can also hook into the dvd/vhs player and if I CHOOSE to, watch what he is watching or watch something else (regular cable, channels or dvr) Thanks in advance for any help on this!

Hey folks. Just got a Slingbox AV hooked up to my Noos in Paris and it slings great to the US. The only issue is the remote (IR). The Noos cable box is made by Philips (Philips DCR3111/19). The sling-software allows me to chose "Code 1" which doesn't work and "Code 2" which doesn't work. I can also put in my own code. What do I need to put here to make it work? Also, the box itself is tricky, I'm guessing I've put the sling IR "prongs" in the right spot but there is no clear IR spot on the box. It is essentially this box so I've placed the "prongs" on that right side assuming that is the only place an IR signal could be received. Let me know your thoughts - so close to making this thing work - any help would be greatly appreciated. -Andre
