Is possible to view different channels?

My TV has PIP, and my cable box is dual tuner - is there a way to have a different channel on the computer than what is on the TV? I have tried everything. I have HDMI monster cable connecting my TV (Samsung) to my HD DVR (Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD), slingbox pro connected to the DVR with the S-cable. I can not get rid of the HDMI because of my service provider TWC (basically I will have no sound). So is it possible with this set-up or by adding something else to not always have the TV for viewing the sling box remotely and view different channels on a computer vs at home on the TV? Thanks!

So, if I buy a slingbox solo in the UK, what countries in europe or the world can I use it in ( or Cant I use it in)?. Will it also work on NTSC in the USA ?, is the world my oyster ?

I have had a horrible experience with my slingbox so far. When I go to configure in initial setup I notice the preview screen on the right side freeze just seconds after the box picks up the source signal. I am able to proceed with no problems until the IR setup at which point the configuration freezes and I eventually get a notice that says that the slingbox lost its network connection. I need help. I have hard wired the box to two computers, tried the setup with and without sources, tried it wirelessly with two computers, checked for any and all firewalls, and I have had no success. I spent most of the day online with peeps from the sling support and have gotten nowhere. I really want this to work. I am moving to mexico in a month and need to watch Real Football this fall. I'm beginning to think I'm in a real pickle and will probably end up not using it if something miraculous doesn't happen. I tried returning the box to best buy, but because the gift was purchased for me in October they gave me a no-no. If you have any ideas please shoot...

Hi all, After a shaky start I have managed to get my Solo up and running on the home network, I have done the test for remote viewing and it was OK. My question is can someone (my son) in another part of the country install the sling viewer onto his computer and access my slingbox? If this can be achieved how does he complete the setup at his end? I hope this makes sense. My setup is as follows: Home network 1 Sony VAIO laptop with Vista, 1 desktop with XP, my router is a Draytek Vigor 2600G. Regards

I searched but didn't find excactly what I am looking for. 1) in the middle is the "streaming" Led. Is there just one LED? It looks like a whole bunch in the shape of an inverted "U". Only the lower left is on. 2) what does a blinking network LED mean eactly? Mine has been blinking continuosly for the last three weeks, since the last power outage. Blinks about once a second. Thanks :-) Will

I have had my slingbox working fine for approximately six months, except a few weeks ago, I tried to install some hardware to get extra connections near my Slingbox Pro (a second router). I have since dropped this idea, as nothing seemed to work right through the two router connection. Nevertheless, since I changed the connection my Sling has been acting very strange. It is now hardwired back into the first router as per the original set up, yet I can not find it on the LAN in the Slingbox chooser page. Even when I wrote down the finder ID, I could not connect. So I decided to reset it back to factory defaults. This worked well, and after I had finished programming the HD input, I tried to program the coaxial input, and the blue box that showed the display got stuck with a "starting" message and never changed. Also the light that comes on when the machine is slinging to another connection turned off. After cancelling the coax setup, I looked at the component settings I had previously entered, and I got the same blue screen with "starting" message. However, the tv input (running through the sling) still...

I bought the Slingbox solo 2 months ago, and I just set it up, and now im getting this message Connection Failed you cannot connect to the Slingbox right now. Make sure its set up for remote viewing and that the network router the slingbox is connected to has the correct port fowarding settings. I have a linkseys router as well as the Slingconnect. My router is upstairs in the computer room, while I use my laptop for the viewing downstairs where the DVR is. How do I set it up for remote viewing and connect it to the port fowarding?
