How can I tell if my Slingbox is set up correctly for remote viewing before I leave my home network ? The best way to know if you everything is working is via the SlingPlayer setup screen. You can only get to this screen if you're in the same home network as the Slingbox you want to check. Follow these steps: 1. Start the SlingPlayer application 2. Click on the menu item: View Slingbox Directory 3. Select the Slingbox that you want to test 4. Click on the "Edit Properties" button 5. Click on the "Slingbox Configuration" tab 6. In the Network Settings section, click the "Change..." button 7. After you enter your administrator password be sure you have checked the box for enabling remote viewing and click next. 8. Continue to click the "Next" button preserving all of your same settings until finally the Slingbox will report back to you whether it successfully received a remote connection. 9. If you see this screen, the chances are great ...

Setup general question, and which box should I buy??

I live overseas and want to setup a Slingbox in the U.S. using someone's digital cable. I want a box/setup that will allow me to watch something overseas using the remote, while the person in the U.S. can watch something else on their cable t.v. at home. I can't find in the literature/website anywhere where this basic question is clearly answered. So, which slingbox should I buy to be able to do this? In the U.S., they have digital cable t.v., with a cable box. In one room, there is a cable that goes to the router, then computer, AND there is another digital cable that goes to the t.v. cable box, then the t.v. Will a "splitter" help this, or is there one particular Slingbox that can allow the remote to watch something different than the person in the U.S.? What is the setup I should use? Any help is GREATLY appreciated! A friend in Thailand let me test his remote for a while, and it worked just great over there.

Getting my Sky+ Signal to my LCD TV in the Living Room?

I have a problem at home as was wondering the what the best way to tackle it would be. I have a cupboard in the kitchen that houses our WiFi Router, Sky+ box with a phone line and all the aerials/coax running to TVs all over the house and to the sky dish. (We have to have SKY as there is not TV signal as we live in a dead spot) We bought a new LCD HDTV and the picture is rubbish due the the length of the analogue coax running from the kitchen cupboard to the digital TV in the living room. My thinking was to use 2 Slingboxes one connected to the sky box and the router (not using the WiFi Part) I would then connect the router to a Davolo dLAN 200AV creating a wired LAN to every power socket in my house. Here's the question! Would it be possible to connect another Slingbox to another Davolo dLAN 200AV in the Living Room and stream SKY from the kitchen cupboard to the Living Room TV? I see it's possible to stream sky to a PC anywhere in the house but to another TV? Please help!!
