"Twilight"

Stephenie Meyer's romance novel-turned-movie tells the story of a Romeo and Juliet-type romance between a mortal and a vampire. Twilight is not Bram Stoker's Dracula. I have watched it and it turns out that it's not actually my typical vampire type of movie but it's a big hit for young girls and young adults as well. Has any of you watched this movie?

Zeitgeist: Addendum

Anyone watched this? Zeitgeist: Addendum, attempts to locate the root causes of this pervasive social corruption, while offering a solution. This solution is not based not on politics, morality, laws, or any other "establishment" notions of human affairs, but rather on a modern, non-superstitous based understanding of what we are and how we align with nature, to which we are a part. The work advocates a new social system which is updated to present day knowledge, highly influenced by the life long work of Jacque Fresco and The Venus Project.
Movie Talk: 'Ironman' Good.... Really???

I heard a Chicago Tribune film critic on WGN Radio this morning talking to Spike O'Dell about the upcoming Ironman superhero movie. According to him, Ironman is must-see film... three and a half stars! I never would have Robert Downey Jr. would be a good superhero. What are your thoughts on this film? Is this guy crazy or does Gwyneth Paltrow distract people from the actual movie?

Dude, My First HD DVD

I haven't bought a DVD in years. I actually haven't owned a standalone DVD player in years. I've used my Humax Tivo and my PS2 for DVD playback. I finally got my Toshiba A2 from the WalMart special a while back and had to go buy a HD disc. My choice, The Big Lebowski.. I hadn't seen it in years. I am pretty impressed with the player so far.. I'm signed up with Netflix and Blockbuster right now, they both have a decent selection. Blockbuster has them online but doesn't have them in the store though..

AFI Again Rates 'Kane' As Top Movie

AFI has spoken. Here are the results of their CBS special "AFI's 100 Years ... 100 Movies - 10th Anniversary Edition," from AP --------------------------------- LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The years have been kind to "Citizen Kane," including the last decade. The 1941 Orson Welles classic - the story of a wealthy young idealist transformed by scandal and vice into a regretful old recluse - was again rated the best movie ever Wednesday by the American Film Institute. In the CBS special "AFI's 100 Years ... 100 Movies - 10th Anniversary Edition," "Citizen Kane" held the same No. 1 billing it earned in the institute's first top-100 ranking in 1998. There were notable changes elsewhere, though, with Martin Scorsese's 1980 masterpiece "Raging Bull" bounding upward from No. 24 in 1998 to No. 4 on the new list and Alfred Hitchcock's 1958 thriller "Vertigo" hurtling from No. 61 to No. 9 this time. Charles Chaplin's 1931 silent gem "City Lights" jumped from No. 76 to No. 11, while the 1956 John Ford-John Wayne Western "The Searchers" took the biggest leap, from No. 96 all the way to No. 12. "The ones that made the huge jumps are really, really fascinating," said Jean...
