When I first setup with the widows software I downloaded I created a slingbox name with a password. I also had to give an email with another password. I also created another account with another email and password for when I'm at work. Thinking I could let my son watch when he's not home, I created another account for him to use with another email and password and sling ID. (Hope you're still with me.) The problem, I log in to the third account I created for my son to test it out and discovered that I can't actually watch anything through the web "watch.slingbox.com site without the original slingbox password I created when I first setup. So what's the point in creating more than one user account if in the end you still have to give the main sling password AND the sling ID? If this is how it works the security is horrible. In short I want to let my son watch tv when he's not home but I don't trust his notebook as he and... I can get both receivers on my laptop but only one on my slingcatcher. On my slingcatcher I can see the names of both receivers in my connect menu, but each name brings in the same box. I recently changed receivers and had help from slingbox support to do so, when doing this I did it on my laptop, I could not see my slingcatcher as it was in another location. When setting up my replaced receiver, I used the same email address for both receivers and the same password for both. I define the dvr as a model DCT6412, and it works fine - except the virtual remote has no volume control buttons. That was never a problem because I used my TV volume control at home, and the DVR volume was set high enough for slingbox playback. However - recently, I moved the whole setup around, and started using the DVR's own volume control. But, when I use slingplayer, I have no way of boosting the volume if I left it too low at home. I have tried quite a few model choices in the slingplayer setup, and none of the virtual remotes (except the qip models) have volume control buttons. (The qip remote looked totally different, and the volume buttons did not seem to work.) I am on the road at the moment, and cannot look to see what model the dvr says - and I seem to remember I could not find a model #, and, originally, I found some info online that suggested I try the DCT6412... If my home DirecTv DVR is not powered on, and I try to use the SlingPlayer Mobile remote to power it on (or off), the Tour resets. In other words, I can only use SlingPlayer Mobile if my DVR is already on at home. All other functions on the Tour work fine - channel up/down, select, list, guide, etc. Can anyone solve this?
