NA9D said: Agreed 100% on this. The buffer is really tough to control after 60 minutes of buffering. I'd rather see a shorter buffer (say 20 mins) and the scale never shifts. Maybe that'd make...
Reply to SlingPlayer for Windows 2.0 Public Beta Released, Reviewed on August 7, 2008
Overall, I really like the new look - it's quite polished. For me, the local buffer (pause and scrubbing) is the most useful new feature. The guide doesn't do much for me - either I'm...

Reply to Sprint Instinct on July 21, 2008
I like the 800w. Was thinking it'd be a good second phone. But Sling doesn't work on it yet and Sprint has seriously adjusted their SERO plan making it harder to get in and more...
Reply to HD TiVo, SlingBox Pro & LCD TV on July 19, 2008

Reply to Blackberry / iPhone on July 10, 2008
I'm not aware of any new info... I expect we'll see Blackberry later this year, perhaps in conjunction with RIM's firmware updates. A comment by a Sling VP a few weeks ago suggested an iPhone...
Reply to New SlingCatcher Details Available on June 30, 2008
I can't recall off-hand who else is using EchoStar hardware. I think a satellite vendor in Canada, but can't remember if anyone is Europe is too? That'd probably be the low-hanging fruit if they're already...

Reply to Does Slingbox ever test connections? on June 28, 2008
No way. Sling people only connect to boxes of folks who opt-in (for trouble-shooting, for beta-testing, etc).

If the webcam needs juice, it'll also feed it. It feeds power to my Asus wireless bridge.

Reply to SanDisk kills TakeTV on June 7, 2008
I wouldn't call TakeTV a direct competitor, though I agree with the points that creating a good media extender (experience) is challenging and the category is hard to define. FYI TakeTV didn't handle ANY HD...
